Chapter 21
Down the steep incline they drop to the valley floor and Mike slows to pull into a gate on their left. He pulls up over a hillock and the gravel pit is spread out before them against the mountainside. Mike sees another car pulled in ahead so he parks by it. "Looks like we have company. We'll see if we can spot them first before we leave the area of the cars. They won't shoot in this direction." Rick climbs out as Mike shuts the motor off. He points as his dad gets out to join him. "They're down below us there. I saw a red hat." "Okay, we'll go down to them on our way to the far end." They climb down keeping the cars behind them. Mike waves as he sees two men ahead on a slight rise. One waves back in recognition that they are there. It turns out one is a prison guard from Agassis Maximu
