“He is too stupid like so I never really let him be alone with them.” I whisper to Irene. It is not really like that. I just really do not want him to be spending too much time with my family or should I say with my granny most of all. I feel like I will be a failure in her eyes because the one and only one thing she would keep on asking him is if there is any girl I am interested or seems to be interested with. And that i***t would happily say no, because he likes mocking me about it. And as a result, my granny would sign me up for blind dates here and there. “We are just really glad that he still not loosing hope to find a girl.” My granny said. “And I knew it.” I thought to myself while Irene is giggling beside me. “What makes you worried when the fact that this man beside me is just so famous in our school that if you just tell them that you want a girl to date him, the line would have gone long since eighty percent of the girls like him and the twenty like Michael.” Irene said with pride. I do not even understand the point of her being proud of that thing when I find it really a pain in the ass. “Well, what is the use of those girls if he does not find them interesting. Is that not right son?” My father said. It made me smile and happy knowing that we are in the same page. “And to make that worst, I hate to be judgmental, but our Henry is perfect and capable so we hope that he would find someone on the same wavelength as him.” My mother said. I eyed them all as I could not stand this kind of talk any longer. I feel like this is making me problem for my future plans towards the very person they chose to say all these things. “Stop all of it. A girl of his choice is never really been an issue for me since I know that he would never choose someone who does not deserve him. I just want a great grandson or daughter from him.” My granny said before starting eating for real this time. Which I do not really know if I should be thankful that she ended it or should I dig a hole and hide myself by the way she chose to end it. “Just eat.” I said to the smiling but quiet Irene. They have been telling me their wishes, the only thing they want but I have been also telling them that I am still young, I have so many things I still want to do and one of them is to date which they also told me that we should just skip and just find a girl who would bear a child for me. And I never would have thought they were this desperate to just blabber everything in front of the woman they just met now. “Sorry.” I simply said whispering to her. Thankfully that she is sitting beside me, making these kinds of things to say to her, most of all the apologizing. End of flashback “Dr. Altman?” the intern under Henry for the week called for him at for the tenth time. “Sorry. What is it?” he said after blinking caused by the intern’s hand waving so close in front of his eyes. “Nothing, it is just that it is time for our night rounds. And I am so sorry, I am such in a hurry because I have something once, I punch out.” The intern said apologetically. Henry looks at him for a couple of minutes with disbelief in his expression and before he looks around seeing things that he could not remember doing or having. Like the pile of documents on his desk that are piled on the side of the once he remembered finished, the empty cups of coffee on the upper side and a Styrofoam with traces of foods inside of it that he could not remembered when he got them and the last thing, he looked at is the wall clock that indicated six o’clock p.m. as the sun is already on its way into hiding. “Sorry, we will go now.” Henry said after grabbing his white lab coat, his stethoscope and his pen before they both walked out of his office and needs to ride the elevator to go up to his floor. The wondering expression of Henry changed into contentment with a smile as soon as the elevator door opens and Catherine came to his sight. “Good evening Dr. Stevens.” Henry’s intern said which is returned by a smile of her and the same greeting she received. Henry looked at his intern from behind with displeasure before he looks past him, towards Catherine and smile before he said “Good evening Dr. Catherine.” With a boasting tone without knowing. Catherine looked at him shock by the way he called her. The first name basis that is only meant for people who are close enough is something should not occur with her and him since they are still not that close, the talk the had is not something could end up to closeness that quick. “Good evening Dr. Altman.” Catherine said calming herself to point out the thing she has in mind. “On the way home already?” Henry said, trying to hold a conversation between them. “Yeah, I could see you are not yet.” Catherine said with smile out of courtesy. “Dozed off a little.” Henry said and just in time as the elevator dings and thought that somebody is going out. The elevator doors opened, making a handsome man in front of the elevator door wearing such a charming smile. He admits it that even though he is not inferior to him, he can also tell that he is a master piece just like him. “There you are.” The man said. “Here I am.” A woman’s voice answered. Then the next thing happened break both his heart and world as the woman who answered him came into his view as she walks forward, wrap her arms around the man’s waist and so did the man and they give each other a peck on each other’s cheeks and seeing the back of the woman is already enough to let him know that it is Catherine. “See you both, tomorrow.” Catherine said as she looks back to them before the elevator doors closes leaving Henry leaning on the walls of the elevator with his hand on the handle for the people needs it to support themselves to stand. He stares at the elevator doors that are now closed with his strength all drain and his soul somehow flew away with Catherine and that man. It seems just too much for him to take. Since he just barely started acknowledging his feelings after all those years when he suffered and did not know that he will be once again as before he could even start, he already seen the finish line.
