Rose’s POV:
I felt better after I spoke with Thorn, and a little relieved, for a moment I thought I was about to marry a criminal. Thorn had managed to put my mind at ease. I still felt like there was something Thorn and Emma were hiding, but I was sure that they weren’t criminals or killers.
I called for Maggie to help me dress. I had a bad feeling every time she came near me, I felt unsafe. I would catch her sometimes watching me, she made me feel uncomfortable and I still wasn’t sure about her relationship with Thorn.
As soon as I was dressed, I went down to breakfast. I had a light breakfast and called for a carriage to take me and Maggie to Mrs Lefleur’s shop, for my fitting. The whole drive over there I felt uneasy, as if I was being followed. I wrote of the feeling as
