Lora's eyes narrowed as she opened the door. Old Johnson was comfortably seated on the couch in the hall. Lora had been dreading this moment for weeks when she found out that Old Johnson had recovered from the illness she was battling for the past two years.
" What are you doing here?" Lora gritted.
" Oh so I am now not welcomed in my son's house?" She said with a tone of sacarsm.
" I can see you are now fine."
" Oh yes, my dearest daughter in law."
" Why are you here?"
" I actually think you wished I was dead by now. But now I'm alive..."
" Get to the point already!"
" I've come for my granddaughter, Liah."
" Tell me you are joking!"
" Do I look like a joker to you!"
" You know there is no f*cking way I would let you take my daughter!" Lora made emphasis on the last two words.
" Whatever you do I would take her far away from you. You are not fit to be a mother, Lora. You are so cold and distant, just like your father. My Liah deserves a loving and nurturing environment, which I can provide. And I don't want you to bewitch her too." Old Johnson smiled as she walked to Liah.
Liah stared at her with a disgusted look.
" I wonder how on earth you become the mother of my father, who is nothing like you." Liah uttered.
The expression on Old Johnson's face turned sour as Liah continued.
" You think my father didn't know how greedy his mother was? My father, may his soul rest in peace. Knew that if he had given all his assets to mom, you would blackmail her with me and take it all. He was smart enough to will them all in my name. However here you are acting all nice in order to get me to hand it over to you. You are so greedy! You were the cause of grandfather's death yet you had the guts to frame my mother in order to hurt the relationship between my parents. Unfortunately you plan backfired, the love dad had for mom didn't dwindle, not even an inch."
Lora and Molly were shocked by this. Old Johnson chuckled and turned to Lora
" Oh so you have fed my granddaughter with all these lies...."
" Shut up! I don't want to hear anything from you. Liah are you sure of what you are saying?"
" Ask her yourself."
" So she is telling the truth. You framed me!" Old Johnson walked to her and smiled.
" And what if I did frame you. You were stupid, trying to prove yourself worthy of marrying my son. But you know what, I just hated you even before I met you. So that night I only had act nice make you think you had succeeded, then I striked. Now you know you were a fool. Who would believe you, I have turned the family against you, poor thing."
" You are a monster!" She shrieked
" And you ungrateful little brat. I would take what belongs to me. Mark my words."
" And you think I would naively had it over to you. Never! Mark my words. Liah mimicked.
" I would get you arrested!" Lora stated.
" you have no evidence." She looked around and she smirked.
" Don't bother, the cameras in your house..... are not working."
" Talking about evidence, she has!"
Everyone turned back, it was Andy.
" Lora, you never told me you had found a handsome boyfriend."
Andy shook his head as his gaze intensified on her. He tapped on his phone and played a video of old Johnson's confession. Her face turned white as all the blood drained from her face.
" I would hand this video over to the police and also post it on all social media platforms."
" No you won't do that!"
" Dare me."
" What do you want? I can pay you all the money you can dream of."
" No I don't need your money. All I want is for you to leave this family alone."
" Deal, but you have to delete the video."
" fine." Andy deleted the video. When old Johnson took the phone to verify, she smashed the phone with a flower vase on the table.
" Note! She is my boss not my girlfriend."
With that, she stormed out of the house leaving Lora and Liah in a warm embrace.
" I will not let anyone take you away from me." Lora vowed.
" I won't go anywhere." Now Liah motioned to Andy.
" Don't tell me you were dumb to delete the video?"
" Of course not I sent it to ma'am before I deleted it."
Liah was relieved, that the only evidence to restore her mom's image was not gone.
