Liam stood at the grand foyer of his mansion, surrounded by opulent decorations and lavish furnishings. As part of his new Identity he had to shed his wealthy persona and blend in. That meant he was going to embrace a humble apartment, and a less expensive car. He was the owner of this estate yet they never knew. He was also the CEO of ST JEWELS but he refused to let the world know who he really was. Liam sighed feeling a pang of nostalgia as he began to make his way through the rooms. It was a relief his sister wasn't around, she would have nagged. She was his only family left hence he adored her and gave her everything she ever wanted in life. With the help of Cedric he transported his bag and a few important belongings to his new apartment. It was small yet a cozy place and a quiet neighbourhood to live. Unlocking the door to his new home, Liam felt a sense of trepidation. He wasn't used to those feelings.
" Sir I would arrange for a housekeeper." Cedric stated.
" No. It's okay. I want to be alone here."
" But big boss this neighbourhood is not as save as you have made your estate. What if your enemies strike?"
Liam sat on the couch.
" You think I have become weak."
" No, of course not."
" Then don't worry they can never dare to touch me. I have already made arrangements for that."
" Yes sir."
" Tell 'them' I am on a long vacation. After all I owe them no explanation."
Cedric nodded in agreement.
" Now you may leave." Liam waved his hand as he shut his eyes took a deep breath bracing himself for the days to come.
The next day he was in he office. Nothing made him nervous but this woman infront of him made him more than nervous. Lora was typing on her computer. When Andy knocked she didn't bother to even look at him when she ask him to enter.
" Good morning Ma'am." He greeted with a smile trying to break the ice.
Lora looked up, her piercing eyes gazing at him before returning to the screen.
" Morning," She replied curtly, her voice cold. Andy wasn't surprised but that did not deter him.
" Welcome to your first day as my personal assistant. Hope you are not like the rest." Her words were devoid of emotion.
" Thank you ma'am. I am enthusiastic to get started."
She raised a brow, with a skeptical look.
" I'm apprehensive about that. Anyway you would be handling data, my schedule for work and research for our projects Andy." There was something about how she mentioned his name. He nodded and left. Taking his seat at his small office infront of hers as he began to familiarize himself with the software and files.
Lora sent her secretary to hand over a thick binder, full of notes and guidelines.
" Madam says 'go through and don't bother to ask her any questions." Irene told him.
The day passed in silence with Andy trying to prove to Lora how diligent he was yet she barely acknowledged his present and efforts with her cold attitude. This made him unsure of what the future held.
