An Enemy's Shield
Zane's POV
"She needs to be locked up."
The voice came from the back of the war room. I did not turn to identify it I did not need to.
The sentiment had been moving through the assembled senior wolves since Kai laid the cloak on the table twenty minutes ago and it had been building toward someone saying it out loud.
Now someone had.
"She is a Silver Moon wolf carrying council protection," I said. "Nobody is locking anything."
"The crest was sewn into the lining," the same voice said.
"That is not something you stitch in an hour. That cloak was prepared in advance someone planned this."
"Yes," I said.
"Someone did which means we investigate who that someone is before we make any decisions."
"We know who it is."
