The Bond Grows Stronger
Zane's POV
"It is not something that can be controlled through distance," Healer Maren said.
"That is what I am trying to explain to you."
"Try again," I said.
She set down the small glass vial she had been holding and looked at me with the patience of someone who had been a pack healer for thirty years and had stopped being intimidated by Alphas somewhere around year five.
She was small and grey haired and she spoke to me the same way she spoke to everyone, which was directly and without decoration.
"A royal mate bond suppressed is a royal mate bond strengthened," She said.
"That is not my opinion that is biology, the bond reads resistance as a threat and responds by intensifying. Every time you push it down it comes back louder."
