Secret Between Friends
Lena's POV
The message was folded inside the lining of the fresh clothes Sofia had arranged to be sent through the neutral trading route. Seven days after I arrived inside Blue Moon walls and it was the first contact I had received.
I found it while unpacking the bundle. A small square of paper tucked between the fabric layers, the edges sealed with the specific fold pattern we had agreed on before I left. I recognised it immediately.
I sat on the edge of the bed and opened it.
The coded system was Sofia's design. She had always been better with patterns than anyone gave her credit for. To anyone else the message looked like a list of fabric measurements and supply requests to me it read clearly.
