I'm gonna miss your smile And the joy that you bring to my wretched soul... From wait for me by Johnny Drille "How long will it take you to get ready?" Adeel annoyingly yelled from the other side of the door. "I'm coming, just give me five minutes." I tried to roll my veil tightly around my head. "2 minutes or I will come and drag you out myself. " I laughed. What's wrong with him? This not the Adeel I know of. The door jerked open and I turned around with one hand holding my veil and a pin in my mouth. He really did come in. For the first time he stepped into my room. Right now the room feels so small. "What?" I asked making the pin drop. "You were laughing. You thought I couldn't come in." He smirked. "You can't just come into a girls room." I scolded frowning my face. "No just say I can't just come into my wife's room. It's not just a girls room." "Are you sick?" I blinked my eyes. "Nope, are you insulting me?" "No I'm just asking. " "You're insulting me." "I'm not." "Come," he dragged me out. "Let's go." "A minute, let me pick my purse." "Okay I will be outside." He stepped outside and I went back to my room I tied my veil securely around my hand. Puting some spray on. I closed my door and went out. Locking the door behind me I made my way to the garage but I couldn't spot Adeel. Where is he? I wondered. "Over here!" Adeel called and I turned to find him standing at the gate. "We are trekking, the house is not far." "What?" "Can't walk your Majesty?" He raised an eyebrow. I like the playful Adeel. He's cute when he shows this side of him. He's carefree. Why couldn't he just be like this? What is it with his ex wife. Insha Allah I will find out soon. "Stop looking at me like that if you want to make it to that dinner you so much desire." he winked. And I blushed. And I smiled. We walk side by side in silence. None of us talking. It's getting dark. The wind flowing twirling my gown and my veil covering my face. I kept shifting it back with my hands. The street here is very quite. There are a few people passing by. An elderly woman is trying to pick some papers flying out of her reach. I stepped forward helping her pick them. I handed them to her when she beamed at me. "Nagode, Allah Ya baki miji nagari." (thanks, may Allah bless you with a good husband) she prayed. "Ameen" I answered smiling. Her smile is contagious. "She's blessed with one." Adeel spoke from behind. "You're married?" She asked and I nod my head in response. May Allah bless your union she prayed again. Ameen. We both answered and part our ways. I kept my vision straight. I am more than surprised when I feel Adeel's fingers intertwine with mine. Holding my hand in his. I stopped for a moment and raise my head to look at him. His eyes twinkling with excitement. His dimples more prominent than ever as he gave a large genuine smile. "I will be affectionate with you from now on." He spoke. His voice low. Making my own body to tingle. You know that feeling of butterflies? That's what I'm feeling now. I tried to remain calm and Un affected. So I just smiled. Deep down inside, I know the little devil inside of him is still there hiding. And only God knows when he will make his appearance again. Bringing out the cold and stony Adeel. How long will it last? I'm gonna help you fight your little demon. I made this silent promise right now and here. "What are you thinking of?" "Nothing." I answered shaking my head. "Uhm. We are here." It's only now that I realized we are standing in front of the house. Adeel knocked the house a few times. The knock is answered by the loud barking of a dog. The barking sounds louder which make me conclude that the dog is coming towards the gate. I sprinted backwards but strong arm held me before I could make my run. "The gate is closed" Adeel chuckle. I feel embarrassed. The warmth of his hold so familiar. It is not a bit awkward. It feels like home. Puting some sense into my head I removed my body away from him. The door opened. Usman welcomed us and led us inside.
