3 - Rules

“Won’t I get in trouble for riding with upperclassmen?” Ricka asked as we entered the parking lot for where I can park. “Nah, this is my car and I can decide who I give a lift to. But that is an Elite Prefledge. So, yeah, if it was any other upperclassmen, you would have gotten into trouble,” I suddenly remembered that rule. As Elites, we have to know all the rules. And driving in with an upperclassman is against the rules but not if you are an Elite like me. Good thing she asked me, otherwise I might have forgotten about that rule, not that I forget them usually. I am most likely distracted by Ricka today. “Hey, would you mind if I call you Rich?” I asked as we parked in my spot. Ricka looks at me a bit weirdly. What? Is it not to her taste? “I never had a nickname and why Rich? Why not Ri?” She pointed out and I paused for a bit. That does sound better. “Okay, Ri it is,” I accepted her suggestion before getting out. She follows my lead and I take the bag of snacks from her before letting my bracelet store it. I don’t know why I do this, instead of putting in my bracelet first. Maybe I like to feel normal sometimes. “Wow, I see the runt is here too. Did you study hard or did you use your body to get in?” We suddenly hear a girl speak. We both looked to our right as we neared the registration building. “Oh, Melissa,” Ri does not sound happy about her. The girl has long bottle blond hair with curly ends. Her eyes are emerald in colour. She has a lot of makeup on. She has a group of friends with her. “Just ignore them, please,” Ri touches my arm, I can feel through her touch that she doesn't want to fight. I assume they are from the same pack as her. “Okay,” We walked again to the building and we could hear the group laugh, making assumptions about how she got in. I don’t care about things like that but I can see it bothers Ri a little bit. “Don’t listen to them. You don’t need their approval, just your own,” I added before bypassing everyone to go to the Elite’s counter. Naturally, everyone is looking at us and gasping here and there. “Good morning,” I greeted the admin lady and she smiled at me like always as I placed my student card on the counter. “Good morning, Miss Rose. Did you decide on a course?” She asked as she already typed in my details. “Yeah, I did. Supernatural Doctor, please,” I smiled and she nodded with a smile on her face. She is nice to me since I am nice to her. “You are now registered for that course. Anything else? Will this young lady be under your care as your pup?” She looked at Ri. “Yes, I picked her as my pup. And I will need the pup band too, please,” I answered and I looked at Ri with a toothy smile. “What? Really? Me?” She was caught off guard and I nodded at her. The Elites can pick someone they can take off each year. They can even keep this person until they graduate. Which I will be doing. “Just this year or until she is done?” The lady asked and I smiled back at her. “Until we are done,” I let her know and I glanced back at Ri, she had tears in her eyes. I think that is gratitude. I smiled at this. “She is a lucky girl,” the lady handed my card back with the band. “Thank You,” I take them, and she places the payment machine to scan my bracelet on the counter. I tap to pay and thank her again before leaving the building. “Here, let me put it on you,” I can see Ri shaking. “Why me? I am sure that there is someone better than me out there,” Ri sounds so insecure right now. “Like I said before. I want to be your friend and I can see that you need someone on your side. And that is what I want to be for you. I am on your side and by taking you as my pup, I will always be here for you,” I tell her how I feel about this. “Thank you. You are a kind soul,” she mutters and I smiled at her. “Only towards you, though. The rest will get my evil side,” I let her know and she giggles at this. “What? Your…” Melissa wanted to touch her new band and I grabbed her arm before she could. “She is mine, keep your filthy hand off her. Who knows where they have been? By the smell I would say the private part of a curtain person,” I show the disgust on my face. I can see she is offended by this. I even give her my evil smile. She looked me up and down before pulling her hand away by force. “This human will not be able to protect you all the time. You just watch your back, wolfless,” Melissa turned on her heels and her group followed her into the registered building. “Did you really smell that on her hand?” Ri asked as we headed to the book storage next. “No,” I laughed and Ri tried not to laugh at this. “If a human could have smelled that, that part must be really dirty or they might have done it a couple of times,” I added, and Ri shows her disgust by getting chills. We both suddenly burst out laughing. “Good morning,” the Storage clerk greeted us as we got in. We both handed him our student cards and waited for him to pull them. “Here they are,” we hear a familiar voice again and we look to the door. There I saw the drunk bastard from this morning. Melissa is draping over him, getting the message of who he belongs to everyone in this room. “Alpha,” Ri bowed her head for him and kept looking down. “Uhm, Mel. We can’t do anything to this human. She is an Elite. See the gold band?” The guy spoke. Looks like he sobered up. He has black messy short hair with blue eyes and tanned skin. His body is obviously toned by how tight the clothes fit, or he is just buying clothes that are too small for him. Wonder if he is small down there since he is wearing those skinny jeans. I am sure they are not supposed to sit that tight around that area. “What? No way!” Melissa looked at me again and her eyes went big as she finally focused on my band. “Remember that I can get you expelled from this university. Say anything bad towards my pup again or I and I will make sure everybody knows about you,” I gave her my warning and she looked at the alpha boy again. “What? I am already warned by her too. I have no authority here. This is a neutral place. I can not be in charge here. The only one who has a say about things here is the Alpha King,” the alpha pup reminded her and we all know that is true. Melissa looked defeated at his words and folded her arms across her chest. Causing her breast to almost pop out of her clothes. And she calls Ri a slut. Wonder who is really one. Ri is covering most of her skin. “Here you two go. Have a great day,” the clerk gave us our books and I made mine disappear in my bracelet. “Should I carry those for you too?” I asked Ri while she was trying to carry them all. “Uhm, sure,” she blushes and I let her books disappear too. “Come on, I want to get you something,” I took her hand and walked outside. Not giving her pack members another look. I guided her to the gadget shop of the academy. Here we will find laptops and all those nice things to help with your work. “Good day,” we got greeted by a shop assistant and we greeted back. “I would like to get her a bracelet please,” I asked and I heard Ri gasp at this. “No! They are so expensive,” she refused quickly and I smiled at her. “This is your welcome present as my roomie,” I added and I can see that she is not comfortable with it. “What kind would you like? Essential, Standard, Extra, Deluxe, or Ultimate?” the shop assistant moved to a glass display of them all. “Ultimate please,” I answered and I can see Ri is panicking a bit but she is trying to hide it as best as she can. “You will only get this one gift from me for the time you are here,” I added, trying to get her to calm a bit down. It seemed to have worked a little. “Okay, here is the one we have in stock,” the assistant brought out a display box with the bracelets on display. Most of them are bulky for my taste and judging by Ri’s wrist, they won’t look good on her. “This one,” I pick one that has two simple and thin beams overlapping all around with a small light blue crystal on. “Great, I will get one from the back and be right back. Feel free to browse our other goods,” the assistant disappeared with the box again to the back. “Why give me something so expensive?” She is scratching her arm while looking down shyly. “I am taking care of you. This is how I show it and I know I won’t be able to keep my eye on you all the time but with the ultimate bracelet, I will be able to see you all the time. It also has a teleport function, that way I can reach you in the blink of an eye. And with it also show you what I am,” I winked at her, causing her to blush and also frown. “What? You are not human? But your scent is human,” she whispered in shock. I winked at her again, showing her to keep it a secret by putting my right index finger over my mouth. She shows how she locks her lips and throws away the key. That is so cute. Okay, I admit. I am bisexual. I just haven’t found the soul I will be able to love forever. I am still window shopping. “Okay, just let me scan your bracelet please,” the assistant appeared again, walking to the payment counter. I walked over, scanned my bracelet, and took the package. “Thank you, have a great day,” I greeted him and he did the same for us. “Let’s go eat our snacks,” I felt myself getting a bit hungry and she nodded. I led her to an outdoor table with an umbrella over it. We take our seats and let the snack bag appear. I also gave her to black box from the shop we were just in. She blushes a bit, playing with her thumbs before opening them. “Wow,” she gently touches the crystal on it. I take glances at her as I pack the snacks out. She takes the bracelet out of the box, frowning. “It is a bit too big,” she complains a bit as she puts her hand through it and suddenly the bracelet adjusted itself to her arm. “What the… I always wondered how they worked since I have seen a werewolf shift with this still on their arm,” her eyes full of wonder. “It is cool, isn’t it? Perfect for shifters. Now your clothes won’t get shredded from shifting,” I added and she became unhappy. “I will not be using that function anytime soon,” she added sadly and I smiled at her. “You will see the menu soon. Go through the tutorial while we eat,” I let her know and I can see that it just popped up, she is trying to use her hand to pick the options. “Why isn’t it working?” She asked, a bit frustrated. “Use your mind. Think about doing it,” I helped her and she smiled as it worked. I watch her smile as she goes through the things it is telling her about. I opened a pack of chips for her and she eats a bit while struggling to hide her happiness. I enjoy seeing others happy. So nice. “Hello, Rose,” I hear another familiar male voice and look up at the guy just before I take a chip in my mouth. “Hello, Michaels,” I greeted him back and saw he has a new pup this year. “I just wanted to introduce my pup, since I see you have taken one too,” he smiled and I looked at Ri. She bowed her head immediately when she saw the pup of Eliot. Is she someone important? “Okay, this is Ri, she is from the Little Wood Pack. Got in on a scholarship with straight A’s,” I introduced her and she looked up shyly, waving at them before looking down again. “A pleasure. This is Princess Cassy Vakatow. She is the first daughter of the Alpha King,” Eliot introduces her and my mouth falls open. No wonder Ri is bowing her head like crazy. “Wow, should we bow or what?” I am not sure how to address her. “No, no. Please, I just want to be treated normally. I just want to experience university life like a normal wolf,” she shows her hands in front of her, shaking them, indicating no. “Oh, in that case. Ri, stop bowing your head,” I look at Ri and she tries to look up again. “Okay, I will try to be normal. I am an omega, but I will surely try,” she admitted and Cassy smiled at her. “Thank you. When do you think your wolf will awaken?” Cassy flops down next to her while Eliot takes a seat next to me, grabbing a chip from my pack. Eliot has respect for me since I have three degrees behind me and we are comfortable with each other since he learned that I am actually a hard worker when it comes to studying. At first, he thought I was just a naive human girl. And I saw him as an ignorant werewolf guy, just like the rest. But we got to know each other and relaxed because he found out that I am not human either. “Uhm, I don’t know,” Ri replied shyly. “I think her pack did not accept her fully because her mother is half-human and half-werewolf. So I think that is why she did not shift yet,” I give my two cents on the matter and Eliot makes a sound of wonder. “Really? That is just wrong. Why would they be bullying you?” Cassy sounds angry to hear that and I glance at Eliot who is eyeing me. “You may have a point, Eva. Cass, do you think your dad can cause her to shift?” Eliot looks at Cassy next and I can see that she is thinking. Her emotions and actions show easily on her face. “I can always ask him about this. Just to make sure,” her eyes suddenly go foggy and I have seen the werewolves do this a lot. It is that mind-link thing of theirs. I have heard from Eliot about this thing. I can only do this with my bracelet if I have a friend with a bracelet. “Okay, daddy says that he will be able to help with it but he will be able to come anytime soon. But I should let you know when he will be coming. Here, let’s add each other as friends,” Cassy holds out her arm with her pink bracelet on. “O… okay,” Ri copies her movement and her face shows her surprise at how she just got a friend. I smiled at her reaction. “My turn,” I held out my hand and added Ri. “Why not me too,” Eliot does the same and now she has three friends on her bracelet. And with the map, you can see them all too. “Now I can look out for you too if you ever need it,” Eliot smiled and I nodded. “Same goes with you Cass. The Elite Students help each other,” I held my hand to Cassy and she added me too. “What?” she said shocked as she saw what I am and I winked at her. “Keep it quiet though. She is our link to the human students since they can not know what we are and when we add them as friends our species shows us as human to them,” Eliot explained quickly and Cassy nodded. “Right, and to most of us, you smell like a human,” Cassy seemed impressed and suddenly Ri started coughing. “You're a Tribred?” She tried to breathe and I smiled at her. “No wonder you knew about us, sort of. I don’t think all the organization wants you to stay quiet and don't know what you are either,” Ri drank some water before saying that. “And we want to keep it that way too. They are just there to keep everyone safe,” Eliot added and Ri nodded at this. I think she understands the situation a bit better now. I look at Cassy that is starting to talk to Ri again. She is a beautiful girl. She has reddish-brown fussy long hair with wrinkles light over her nose and cheeks. Her skin is light but beautiful. “So what can a pup do and not do?” Cassy gets me out of my stare. “Well, most of the rules still apply to your year but when you're with your caretaker you can go everywhere with them without breaking the rules that are placed for your year,” Eliot explained and the two of them nodded in response to that. “Oh, and if you do get bullied, actions can be taken against the bullies quicker than the others in your year group,” I added casually. Eliot just nodded to agree with me. Ri seemed a bit more relaxed and mouthed me a thank you again. I gave her one nod in return.
