TessA few days later Lindi called me to tell me that she had reached out to Mr. Cowboy aka Tucker.
“So, I called Mr. Wrangler jeans?”
“And how did that go?”
“Pshh nowhere girl.”
“What do you mean? What happened?”
“Okay, so I called him, right?”
“Yea.”
“And we went out for coffee.”
“Okay.”
“And he was so cute and smelled so good. He was so polite, girl, he held out my chair and everything.”
“I’m not seeing the issue, Lind.”
“I’m getting there, anyway, we’re sitting drinking our coffee and the conversation was pretty easy, once you get past the accent, then, ugh.”
“What, girl, spill.”
“He brought up your ass!”
“WHAT!”
“Yes girl! He started asking questions about you, like your name, what you do for fun, where you work. I felt like I was your wingman.”
“Oh no Lind, I’m sorry.”
“I cut him off quick, girl, and told him that you were engaged to a very prominent attorney and were off the market. I thanked him for the coffee and left. I finally find a decent, seemingly normal guy annnddd he’s only interested in your trick ass.”
“I love you too, Lind.” I laughed. “Sorry babe, don’t worry, it will happen for you.”
“Whatever, you did the smart thing and snagged Grier in college.”
“Yea, but look how long it’s taken us to finally get married.”
“I don’t see anything wrong with the way it worked out. You are set in your career, he is set in his. No worries about money, or the future. You guys are a serious power couple. I love it. I’m a bit jealous.”
“Power couple? Really?”
“Yasss girl! Him an attorney, you a financial analyst. You might not be Jay and Bey, but you ain’t hurtin’.”
“Ha, ha. I guess we do alright. Anyway, sorry about your date. What about that dating app that you were on?”
“Blah.”
“I heard your eyes roll through the phone, okay. Well, I’ll see if Grier has any prospects at his new firm.”
