I drove straight to Katie’s house even though I knew she was still with Jordan back at school. I didn’t want to go back to my house.
Her parents were around when I arrived. “Where is Katie?” Katie’s mum asked me as she opened the front door.
“Katie isn’t done with her classes for the day, so I came back alone,” I replied as she let me inside the house. “I’m just going to wait here for her.”
“These children.” Her mother replied with a chuckle. “You want to make arrangements for your birthday party tomorrow?” She asked as she led me up the stairs.
