SARAH “Let's get a divorce”, Asher's cold voice declared the moment I'd arrived inside the bedroom and what seemed like a heart attack struck me in my chest. His eyes were as dark as his hair and his face cold as usual. If I didn't know him well, I would think that this was a prank, despite the seriousness in his looks. My lips parted, but no words came out as I was completely stunned by his sudden demands for a divorce. My breath was shaky, but I tried to control it as I spoke. “I.. I” Filled with fear and several thoughts about how I was going to move on if this was actually true, I was finally able to say something. “W– why?” I asked him, turning my gaze to the side drawer where a document was laid. My eyes darted between him and the documents. Was there really a divorce paper in there? I asked myself rhetorically. “You've breached our contract, so it's only right that I divorce you, Sarah” he explained briefly in his normal unperturbed tone, and I rolled my eyes at him in doubt. ‘A breach?’ I asked myself inwardly as I grew even more confused. Alpha Asher and I have been in a contract marriage for over three years and there's been nothing wrong between us, except for the fact that he was cold towards me. I was already used to this attitude of his for years, and I wasn't complaining, as long as I could stay by his side as his wife. I did not mind. I know Asher didn't love me as his mind had been on his first love Alyssa for so many years, even after we got married. I knew all of these facts, but I still accepted to get married to him, thinking that I would be able to make him love me. It's been three years and I haven't been able to make him even look at me as his wife. We've only been intimate once since our three years of marriage and that only happened last month when he returned home sad and depressed. On that night when he slept with me, I had a lot of feelings surge through me. The feelings of being a woman and being touched by a man, pleased me until I couldn't take it anymore. I love him, I really do, and I don't think that it is going to stop anytime soon. Asher was someone who I've always liked since a young age, when his family and mine arrived at our pack for a visitation. I had confessed my feelings for him, but he never gave me a response. Instead, I discovered that he was dating Alyssa. When our family found out that we were mates, they joined us in marriage, and we've been together ever since. On our wedding night, when I was expecting him to make love to me and tell me how much he wanted me, he threw a contract in my face and asked me to sign it. Ever since then, I've been obeying each and every rule he'd set there without any complaints, so I was wondering what he meant by breaching a rule. “I… I didn't breach any rules in the contract, Asher. I swear”, I began to explain, but he seemed to know what he was talking about. “We had s*x last month..” he said briefly. “No, you seduced me because I was sad and took advantage of getting me into bed with you”, he explained the situation vividly. My heart beat faster inside my chest. How could he say that I seduced him when it was clear that he was the one who came to me that night. He instigated the kiss and I let him do whatever he wanted because he was my husband. How can we be married for so long and not have s*x? Does it even make any sense to him? I turned my gaze from him and I walked towards the drawer to pick up the divorce Files. It was true, he was trying to divorce me. The heading was written boldly on top of the documents. “Divorce agreement papers” “Please don't do this” I said to him, returning with the document. “Tell me you're lying. Asher, I promise not to seduce you again. I don't care if you don't want me again after that, I will stay away from you for as long as you want me to. Please do not divorce me” I said, begging him. “I'm afraid it's impossible, Sarah. Please sign the divorce papers and leave the pack as soon as possible. I have already informed the elders about this. I do not want to see you here when I return with Alyssa” he declared harshly, without even considering me. So it was all because of her. Alyssa had left Asher four years ago when she found her mate and moved in with him. Although they didn't get married, why did she decide to come back and ruin my marriage? Alyssa had always been everyone's favorite from the very beginning, beautiful and loved by even my father because of her remarkable fighting skills and werewolf ability. I've always been the one to suffer. She was my stepsister, a scheming woman who's always snatched everything from me right from a young age. The moment my mother died, and my father remarried, Alyssa was born from their union, and I was abandoned by him. I got no love or affection from my father despite being loyal and doing my duties diligently like a dog. In the pack, I was the one who performed most of the duties, but in return, my husband was snatched from me. The only man I cherish and the only person who has made me feel worthy of myself. The day we got married, I was the happiest. I thought that I had finally won over Alyssa, but it had been about her all this while. He never touched me because he'd vowed that he would only spend time with her. She'd refused him while I married him because I didn't have a choice, and I was madly in love with him. How could Asher do this to me?
