A Wrong Marriage, An Unexpected Baby

Chapter 5

On that cold snowy night , inside the intimate confines of their bedroom , Gabriel's hand hesitantly reached out to caress the almost bare back of his wife but stopped even before he could touch her .

Despite the frigid temperatures that often pervaded their villa , this particular night seemed to affect him more profoundly .

The long curtains , which barely shielded the window , playfully danced in the freezing breeze , their gentle rustling creating a symphony of sensations . In the midst of this captivating atmosphere , Gabriel and Aurora found themselves teetering on the precipice of a love they both yearned for , yet had difficulty embracing .

" What are you waiting for now ? " Aurora's voice pierced the silence all of a sudden and caused Gabriel to flinch for a moment . The fierceness in her voice was what scared Gabriel the most , even when he knew that he really deserved to be hated . The hand which Gabriel was holding back from touching his own wife until now , at last went back to their place as if they had finally lost all their strength without doing anything at all .

" Do you want me to get rid of the clothes myself ? I can do that . I can do anything as long as you order me to do it . I will follow your words obediently without any complaint . " Aurora's voice slowly started to sound revolting as she found herself standing at the very edge of her hellish life already . She had no more reason to be afraid , as she had slowly learned to accept her unfortunate life which was always meant to take a cruel turn at some point of time in the near future probably , but for her it just happened earlier than she expected .

So , she was ready to accept it all .

But for some reason , she could not hear anything from Garbiel . The room seemed menacingly silent once again , without any warmth . Her back shivered in coldness and she felt the urge to turn around at last , thinking that he might have left already . But when she did turn around , Gabriel was still standing at his spot . But unlike before , that tall man was standing with his head down right before her eyes , as if he was trying to look for something precious that had been long lost somewhere on the floor .

Aurora twitched her eyebrows in confusion , but she did not allow herself to mistake his sudden silence for anything else as she had already seen through his cruel intentions that night .

" Well then . If that is what you want , then here you go . " Uttering those words as bravely as possible , Aurora was about to take off her clothes right before his eyes , irrespective of the fact that the bedroom was filled with the brightest light at that time . But it seemed like nothing was going to stop her tonight from shedding all those clothes from her body when she had already been ripped off her most precious treasure a long time ago . Her honor , pride and self respect .

Yes , Gabriel snatched it all from her , ruthlessly .

~ Ring Ring ~

Just when the air between those two started to tense up , the phone started to go off all of a sudden inside Gabriel's pocket and caused Aurora to stop right away .

And without wasting any time , Gabriel hurried to take the call and rushed out of their bedroom in no time , leaving Aurora alone that night . Even when Aurora did not know whether the call was urgent for him or not , it looked more like he was trying to run away with such a pathetic excuse .

Perhaps it was a call that saved Aurora that night from utter embarrassment .

No , not just her , but the call saved them both that night from hating each other even more than they ever did .

A sudden cold wind brushed past her skin in no time and made her crumble down on the floor at last just when she finally dared to let go of the breath that she kept on holding until now .

After that , Aurora did not realize exactly when and how she pulled herself up from the floor and dragged her exhausted body onto the bed that night without bothering to change her clothes into a comfortable one . Because , at that moment , comfort was the last thing that she could wish for . It was just that , she wanted to be alone that night , only if that was possible .

Having no idea when Gabriel was going to return and continue tormenting her , Aurora closed her eyes as the fatigue slowly started to make her eyes heavy in deep slumber .

**** Ten Years Back ****

" Are you coming or not ? " The young boy who had just saved her from losing her face in front of everyone on the very first day of her school , asked Aurora and pulled her back to reality once again .

And when she looked around her surroundings for one last time before leaving , the cheerful crowd from a while ago did not seem cheerful any more . Instead , an expression of fear overtook all their faces who were enjoying the pathetic scene not long ago when Aurora was getting bullied .

Why ?

Just because someone like Gabriel Castellanos stood up for a girl like her ?

While she tried her best to understand the situation , Aurora did fail to give her savior a proper response in time and kept standing at her spot confused .

But for Gabriel , waiting for her to get even more humiliated seemed utterly frustrating .

" Excuse me then . " Unable to wait for Aurora any longer , he stretched his arms towards the new girl and grabbed her hand desperately , only to walk out of the canteen in no time along with her .

It was only when they reached their classroom , did Gabriel finally let go of her hand , without knowing that the warmth of her touch would remain forever with him deep inside his heart .

Inside the empty classroom , the soft rays of the evening sun kept invading through the glass window only to turn the entire place warm and magical , at least for the two hearts which fluttered without anyone's awareness at that time . For some time , they could not exchange any words as both of them were busy catching their breaths . And when they were finally able to get back to normal , Gabriel walked away from Aurora in a rush , only to take his usual seat as quickly as possible , so that he could put his head down for a while before the teacher came .

But , Gabriel knew very well that his desperate attempts to pretend to sleep were nothing but a mere excuse to hide his face at that time , because if he stayed there for two more seconds before Aurora , she would have surely noticed how flustered he became just by looking at her .

After all , he fell in love with her at first sight that day without much of his knowledge .

Though Gabriel could not understand the reason for his traitor heart which kept beating fast for no reason at that time , he knew that it was not normal , as the only one who made him like this was no one but Aurora , the new girl who was going to sit by his side through the entire semester .

Being afraid about how he was going to hide his sudden feelings all this time , he sighed deep just when the sound of a chair pulling out came all of a sudden and caused him to flinch .

Aurora settled herself down right by his side and tried to stay quiet for some time but she failed in the end .

" Umm ... Well , thank you for your help , Gabriel . " Her soft voice tingled his ears and made him blush hard without getting caught . And that was why he chose to stay silent even when he had so many things to say to her . He wanted to know her badly . He wanted to make her familiar with his surroundings as well , but he had no choice other than pretend to be indifferent to her words .

" I am Aurora . Aurora Barrett . And as you already know , I am the new transferred student here . " Aurora kept going on introducing herself out of her habit . By that time she probably had already forgotten about the fact that she had decided to stay low in the sea of the richest people around the city , just a while ago .

Even when Gabriel chose to stay quiet while listening to her non stop chanting about her life , Aurora did not mind , as she was content just with the fact that she was not alone at that time .

**** Back to the present ****

Aurora's eyes fluttered open in the middle of the night as she could not sleep well due to the whole new place .

For her , the mattress on which she was lying at that moment , seemed annoyingly soft and hindered her sleep . The clothes that she was wearing kept hugging her body too tightly to let her breathe .

Even so , she might have slept well due to her fatigue , but the cold wind which kept coming through the open window all night , woke her up as her body had not stopped shivering every now and then . For once , Aurora thought that she should have closed the window before going to bed , but then again , the memories from the evening kept flashing before her eyes and she felt less interested about finding the little bit of warmth that night which she deserved .

Though the deadly coldness kept piercing her skin , she did not find her will to get up that night as she laid there on the luxurious bed like a dead log .

Seconds turned to minutes and minutes turned to hours , but Aurora could not sleep . Even when she kept her eyes closed , she was absolutely awake , quite unfortunately .

It was only then that a sudden sound of opening the door to the bedroom resonated through the almost empty room and made Aurora even more alert .

She made sure to keep her eyes shut and pretend to sleep at any cost , no matter what the situation became , because Aurora did not fail to realise that the one who entered the room in the middle of the night was no one but Gabriel .

She thought if he saw her sleeping soundly , he might not dare to touch her , but unlike what Aurora had expected , Gabriel did something which shook her entirely . Because as soon as he entered , the first thing he noticed was his wife , who was lying uncomfortable in the coldness , leaving the window wide open .

As soon as he noticed , he rushed to shut the opening and hurried to grab a blanket and tucked her in right away . But for him that did not seem enough . As Gabriel was already coming from outside , he knew very well how cold that night was , that even a guy like him craved a little bit of warmth .

And seeing his wife right in front of his eyes , he could no longer hold back his temptation and took off all his clothes , only to jump inside the blanket along with Aurora . At first , the cold skin of Gabriel almost made Aurora flinch , but the long she tried to stay still to avoid getting caught , a beautiful sensation of warmth slowly invaded her heart bit by bit without much of her awareness .

" Are you sleeping ? " Gabriel whispered in her ears , but Aurora had no intention of responding as she did not want to repeat the same event as that evening , which caused her to become the object of humiliation without any mercy at all .

And as a result , Gabriel pulled her slender body close to his bare chest in no time without giving her any opportunity to resist at all . His hands soon found their way and encircled around her waist as gently as possible in the darkness of the night .

Gabriel's breath once again started to tingle in her back , but for some reason she did not hate it for the first time that night . At that moment , she felt like she had finally found her Gabriel back , who was once her best friend ten years back .

But how is that even possible ?

How could someone change this fast ?

It had not been a day since Aurora saw the rutless side of the young master Castellanos , and when the night fell , he turned into someone who could even embrace her like a loving husband that she had always wished for .

At that moment , Aurora could not help but wonder if it was all a dream .
