When Aurora woke up the next day , she was already late for work . The clock on her phone showed that it was already past eight in the morning and she needed to reach her office within nine am sharp or else her entire day would be considered as a half day , which would definitely reflect on her salary at the end of that month . And her financial condition these days was not something that would allow her to afford to take such a thing for granted . After all , she needed to look after her sick brother who had been suffering in the hospital for the past two months now .
So , without wasting any more time , she threw the blanket aside and was about to get out of bed , but stopped all of a sudden .
Her eyebrows got furrowed without much of her consciousness as she started to get familiar with the whole new surroundings . A lot of things kept crossing her mind and made Aurora confused . Just like the blanket that she pushed away from her body just a second ago , as she realised that when Aurora went to bed last night , she cared the least to cover herself up even when the atmosphere was chilled outside due to the snow fall .
It was only her ruthless husband , Gabriel , who saved Aurora from shivering by throwing a warm blanket over her curled up body as soon as he came in their bedroom in the middle of the night yesterday .
And as the night passed , it did not take much time for Aurora to realize that she was no longer in her studio apartment . The bright daylight which was coming through the huge window fell on the rumpled bed , only to make Aurora see the differences between the two places where she once belonged and where she finally ended up , reluctantly though . The studio apartment where she used to live in until yesterday appeared too small compared to Gabriel's luxurious bedroom in the light of the day , and made Aurora feel inferior all of a sudden .
No , Aurora just did not stop there as she could not help but compare the two lives of her own and Gabriel's . She belonged to the middle class , whereas Gabriel was the epitome of the elite class and always oozed with richness and pride , no matter what he did , unlike Aurora .
But now she was already married to that man . Aurora Barrett became Mrs Aurora Gabriel Castellanos overnight and that name alone was so heavy that she feared whether she could even bear its weight for one long year .
As soon as she thought of Gabriel , Aurora wondered where he had gone , as the other side of the bed was already empty and cold , as she could not see her husband the moment she woke up .
It was like Gabriel came and went away quietly without bothering to declare his presence to her at all .
But why ?
Why was he doing this ? Was this because of the arguments they had the moment Gabriel showed Aurora her place in his life ? Or was it because Aurora did not reject him when he tried to touch her last night in the name of his marital rights ?
Aurora did not find any answer to that even when she tried so hard to understand .
But what she definitely understood was that she was late .
And she definitely did not want to face Gabriel at that critical moment , as if she did , they would surely end up arguing with each other once again and that would cause her to run behind time even more than before .
So , pushing back all her fears in mind for later , she hurried to get ready first , completely forgetting about the fact that all her stuff was left at her studio apartment , leaving Aurora with just one single dress that she had been wearing since last night .
But even before she could worry about that , her eyes moved and got fixed on the envelope which was lying on the bedside table for a long time , with her name written on top of it . It was a letter which was purposefully left there for Aurora to see as soon as she woke up , perhaps .
So , her name on the letter did not make her hesitant as she lifted it up quickly to find out what was written there .
And of course , it was from Gabriel .
In that letter , he only informed her that all her new stuff which she would need in her daily life was already brought and kept inside the walk in wardrobe in their bedroom .
' You can use them all whenever you need . They are all yours . ' was what caught Aurora's eyes among the other things that Gabriel wrote in that letter as she wondered what he would do with all those used stuff after one year when Aurora would be gone out of his life as per the contract .
Aurora scoffed and threw the letter back to the place from where she picked it up once . But when she did so , she saw one more thing which was always lying on the table along with the letter and made her curious for some reason . Because it looked like some kind of id card and it was definitely not her .
Aurora wondered why Gabriel would leave something as important as an id card just like that . Did he want her to see that intentionally ?
Maybe , yes .
Unable to hold back her curiosity , Aurora lifted it up and opened it , only to be surprised early in the morning .
As it was nothing but Gabriel and Aurora's marriage certificate .
Aurora's heart raced as she held the marriage certificate in her hands . Once again , she couldn't believe that she had already married Gabriel Castellanos , the CEO of C&B Enterprise , and hadn't even realized it until now . But their photos together on that document harshly pulled her out of her oblivion and confirmed it once again .
At that moment , she was so shaken by their marriage certificate that she went on again and again to check every single detail of that document along with their signatures on it . But nothing on that piece of paper looked fraudulent .
She could not even understand how Gabriel could get such a document out overnight , when , for commoners , it usually takes over a month .
Then again she realized that her husband was not an ordinary man .
Of course , it was the realization that hit her like a whirlwind , leaving her both scared and anxious about her new life . With her mind still reeling , Aurora made her way to the walk-in wardrobe inside their opulent bedroom . Curiosity burned within her as she opened the doors , revealing a collection of new clothes , shoes , and accessories .
Aurora could not help but gasp in wonder as she realized that Gabriel had thoughtfully taken care of all her needs , ensuring that she had everything to start her new life as his wife . But did he ever consider the fact that he got her the things which Aurora might never have wanted ?
Gabriel did bring her clothes but they were all expensive and from popular brands which Aurora could never afford to touch in her entire life . So were the shoes and the accessories . For Aurora , they were only for show off , at least in the life she used to live , but how could she forget that her life had changed and this was going to be her reality from now on ?
As Mrs Aurora Gabriel Castellanos , she must use all these things which her husband had brought for her .
Looking at those expensive things right in front of her eyes , Aurora sneered .
Once again , she felt humiliated as she was belittled by none other than her own husband .
" What are you waiting for ? " The sudden voice caused Aurora to jump up for a fraction of a second . Her eyes turned towards the direction from where Gabriel's deep voice came and only then did she realise that the walk in wardrobe was not just a wardrobe but the way to the luxurious washroom which was attached to the room they were going to share from now on .
Gabriel , who was standing at the door of that washroom at that time , with only a towel wrapped around his lower body , slowly approached Aurora . Water was still dripping from his wet hair , while a beautiful fragrance kept filling the room in no time from his body , only to make Aurora frozen with the pleasing sight .
But Aurora felt deceived .
Her heartbeat became faster even when she absolutely hated it . While Aurora thought that Gabriel might have already left , as he happened to be a very busy man , he was just taking a shower inside the bathroom and might have seen all her facial expressions from a moment ago through the obscure glass partition .
