BELLA
I woke at six in the morning and began my day. I headed to my faculty and did all that was required of me. Man, was I exhausted. As I had anticipated, it took quite some time.
Being the easygoing person I was, a lot of the people I met there liked me immediately. I exchanged numbers with three girls, chatted with half the people I saw, and pretty much just said hello to everyone I came across.
Now that I had done and collected all I needed to, it was time for my date. Yeah, my first date with Luke in CustoDia.
Last night, Luke told me that there was this love garden on campus that he always pictured us making out and having lunch at. I told him nothing under the sky was stopping us, so we decided to go today.
After barely spending half my first full day at CustoDia, I realised that Uni life was pretty much the same thing everywhere. I could recall how my first day at Bambokky went. Did more observing than anything else. I remembered enjoying seeing so many students around me and the blissful feeling of making new friends and having fun engulfed me. Also, seeing couples all around and everyone looking energized. Never gets old, does it?
It was pretty much the same here, but CustoDia being in a city, had some more social life. Now that was a huge plus in my book.
“My baby is here,” Luke announced at the very moment I stepped foot in his apartment. ”Let me show you to my friends.”
Luke's buddies, Robin and Matthew, chatted with me as I got in and they told me that Luke could never get my name out of his mouth, and it was always Bella this, Bella that. You can guess how that made me feel.
Our love ran deeper than any ocean this world could brag of. I know that sounded melodramatic as f*ck and it was fine if you cringed at that. I mean, I felt the same way when Luke said it to my face while we laid on a beach some months ago. What made it special was that it was the truth.
“You already fit in,” Luke told me, his hand around my waist as we walked to the garden. “One will think you have been here forever.”
“Well, my better half fits in just fine, so it makes sense I do too.”
Luke smiled at me the way he usually did and I cracked up. He knew how to smile at me like he was some proud father watching his little girl take her first steps. Always got me.
We got into the campus after we hit an eatery and got ourselves hamburgers, fries and some soda.
I still found myself gaping at every part of the campus as we walked. Man, my eyes haven't gotten used to the place and every building I saw seemed new even if I had seen it before.
The garden was well trimmed and had several species of flowers arranged at the edges of the road. There were multiple entrances and all of them looked the same— having a rod shaped like an inverted U and then decorated with flowers as though they were ribbons. There were also three fountains placed in different locations, though all of them were far away from the entrances.
As we walked into the garden to find a spot, I found myself, once more, gaping at how skilful the decorators were. Everything seemed to have been deeply thought …even some artistic details that seemed extra, or just irrelevant to the beauty of the garden. But man, what do I know?
“So this is our first date in CustoDia,” Luke said.
“It is,” I agreed. “The first of many, I assure you.”
“I can think of another thing we haven't done a ‘first' here.”
I laughed out loud. “Well, I'm down for it if it's what I'm thinking.”
“Oh, are you?”
“Maggy isn't at home and won't be back till evening. Do whatever you will with this information.”
He stood and stretched his hands to me. “The question of the day is, why aren't we at your apartment already?”
“I don't bloody know,” I scoffed, stood and held onto his arms.
We got to my apartment real quick and on the way, Luke kept talking dirty like he always did. Saying all he was going to do with me. He knew that always had me insanely aroused.
We barely managed to close the door before Luke threw my clothes off my body and then flung me on the bed. He brought his tongue to my v****a and began doing that thing he does— bringing his tongue close, pressing it against my c******s and then taking it away. He licked on it for quite a while—though it felt much shorter because I didn't want it to end. He began dipping his fingers into me, carefully revealing the pinkness and pushing the tip of his tongue in.
He began thrusting into me, and as always, I felt like my world was exploding. s*x with Luke was always amazing. Always! Every time I told Maggy this, she would say, “But you haven't had s*x with anyone else, so how would you know that s*x with Lucas was the best?”
I knew it was great because I couldn't imagine anything feeling better than having Luke inside of me. It was like having this heat in me, but it wasn't the kind of heat that burned.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you, Bella,” Luke said as we laid, bare of clothes, cuddling under the blanket.
I was curious. “Tell me what?”
“I didn't tell you that Robin’s second cousin, Phil, is throwing a party and everyone will be there.”
I laughed. “How can everyone be there? What's this, middle school?”
Luke told me that Phil's parents were very rich and Phil often threw very big parties. Luke said most people just go to his parties to get free drinks even though they thought he wàs a rude little cunt. Of course not everyone came, but an awful lot of people did.
“I see.”
“So are you coming?” Luke inquired. “I will love it if you do. You could meet new people there, you know.”
I nodded. “I have nothing planned for tonight so I will come. Besides, I could use the distraction.”
Luke left and Maggy came in minutes later. I asked her if she would come with me to Phil's party. Whoever the hell Phil was.
“Been to his parties thrice, man, it's like he throws one every Tuesday or something.”
“Is that a yes?”
She made a funny face at me. “Sorry, sweetie pie. It's a no because I have some work planned out. I will go some other time, which could be, you know, tomorrow. Who knows what goes on in that cunt’s head?”
So everyone truly thought Phil a cunt, I pondered.
At three minutes to seven that evening, Luke came and drove me in Maggy’s car to Phil's house, which was a little far from the campus. When I saw Phil's house, I knew his parent had to be very wealthy. The compound was at least five acres. Probably bigger. He had four ridiculously huge swimming pools and a goddamn club in his house. There were three two-storey duplexes at the end of the compound, and I guessed that was the “residential” part of his home.
Luke and his friends got drunk in about twenty minutes and I cracked up watching them act stupidly under the influence of alcohol. God help me remember the road because I was definitely driving their asses home tonight. What a day it was already!
I left the club, sat by the pool and dipped my legs into the water. I got my Jean trousers wet, but I didn't bother myself with that. I loved how the water felt through my clothes.
I was happy. In fact, I had been happy for a while now and everything made sense. But then, I saw him. Yes, I saw him.
His face had very little colour. As a black girl, I said that about every non-black person, but he was different. He was Caucasian, like Luke, but his skin seemed several shades lighter. If anyone else had such pale skin, people would think they were terribly ill. But not him. No one would look at this guy and call him sick.
His eyes met mine for a second, or so I thought, and I could swear that I heard them speak. They seemed to have a little mind of their own, and although they had to be the most stunning pair of eyes I had ever seen, it scared me to my bones. The pupils of those eyes were glossy black and there was very little whiteness.
He was in a yellow top and dark green sporty trousers that appeared to have been sewn from the heavens for him. Everything about him screamed perfection. Everything.
He had something which he wrote on. I couldn't see it clearly …oh, I see it now! It was a diary! It had a black leather jacket. There were some white at the front and I guessed that was where he wrote his name. I tried to see what was written, but I couldn't no matter how hard I tried. He was at least ten feet away.
I saw myself breathing faster than usual, and I didn't like how he was making me feel. He didn't have to say anything or even move at all. His presence was compelling.
Since I was fifteen— now that was five bloody years ago— I have never admired another guy. Never stole a glance thirsting at anyone— not even models. Never had a celebrity crush, because what was the point? No matter how good-looking they were, my Luke was always better. Luke was more than enough for me. I loved Luke and everyone thought Luke was amazing, but next to this guy, Luke wouldn't look good at all— physically. NO ONE could look good standing by this guy. Not any movie star I have seen …not any model …no one! He was perfection imprisoned in the skin of a man.
I wasn't even kidding, he was easily the most good-looking person I had ever seen. Assuredly. Man or woman.
I realised that I wasn't in this alone when I noticed that every girl at the pool was staring at him. Every one of them.
One girl even approached me. “Gosh, he is so hot, isn't he?. What's his name?”
“Don’t know, don't care,” I hissed at her, angrier at myself than anyone else.
I ran. Yes, I did. There was something very off about him and I couldn't tell what. Whatever it was, it was best I stayed far away. He was so damn appealing and I hated that I had been lost staring at him like a moron.
The dude didn't even look at me, but that wasn't an issue … I mean, I don't care. Right?
Yeah, I don't care, I reassured myself.
I told myself that it was the drink. I loved drinking but maybe, just maybe, I felt lightheaded today. I laid on a sofa that was away from where the loud music was. Don't know whether it was fatigue or just too much booze because as my head hit the cushion, I fell asleep.
I woke more than two hours later and most people had left the party. Naturally, I went in search of Luke but I was told that he and his friends were driven to their apartment because they passed out.
Amazing! Now I had to go home alone. Good thing Phil's house wasn't far from where I suspected I would find a cab. It took me ‘only’ a goddamn hour to find out that my suspicion was wrong. There was no bloody cab in the area because it was so late. Damn!
“Do you need a ride?” A voice said as a bike stopped just before me.
It was the guy with the diary. The bloody handsome guy I had seen at Phil's party. The same motherf*cker I had seen that made me so uncomfortable. Man, his voice was an even mix of thick and kind. If you know, you know.
I nodded sheepishly.“Yeah, I do.”
I got to the back of his bike and he spoke only once when he asked me where I was going.
He was kind enough to drop me at the front of my apartment! I was beyond grateful.
“Thank you very much,” I said as I got off his bike. “You don't know how much trouble you have saved me.”
When I tell you this handsome devil didn't react, I mean this from the bottom of my soul. I began to wonder whether I was just mouthing words, but not actually saying anything.
He spun his bike around and was about to leave when I yelled a thunderous ”wait”. Don't ask me why, I don't why I was doing anything at the moment.
He looked at me, his stare barely staying on me for more than a few seconds.
My voice was shaky and barely audible, but I managed to get my words across to him. “Please, I didn't catch your name.”
He seamlessly shrugged his left shoulder. “Makes sense… don't think I threw it.”
Feeling stupid, I kept my eyes on the tail light of his bike until he went beyond my street. To say I regretted going to Phil's stupid party was an understatement.
