Chapter 5: Request

"What?" he said suddenly putting both his hands at the table in an aggressive manner. I must say he hit it hard enough that the plates and utensils made a sound. "I was gone for 3 days and that's what I missed?" he hissed loudly as both two of his eyebrows almost became one. It was obvious in his face that he was so disappointed on how he wasn't able to see the show. What a shame. "I pity you, Draev. I really do." Amara sarcastically said as she closed her eyes and plumping up her lips while slowly nodding her head. "Well," I took a bite of my hotdog before looking at mom who was sitting at the edge of the table. "she was so full of herself and I know I must put it to an end. I wouldn't mind if she insults Song Hye Kyo or maybe Park Chan Yeol or maybe Nam Joo Hyuk or all my favorite kpop stars but;" she paused sipping a tea "insulting my kids is a big no no. It's a crime that I wouldn't miss. It's just her biggest mistake that she spitted out some shits right in front of me." mom finally finished her statement before biting a big chunk of her bacon. Draevon then let out a heavy sigh as he looks at his plate. "It's a shame that I did not saw how that wench burnt off." I giggled upon hearing the word he used. "I never thought you'd be so interested in some family stuffs." I said as I looked at my older brother who's really dismayed with the fact that he was gone when this event exploded. "Well I'm not interested until it's about aunt Ruby being humiliated and laughed at." he replied cheerfully as if getting aunt Ruby down is the only thing he has ever wished for in his entire life. I can't blame him for it though. He and his skills were always invalidated because of aunt Ruby. He never had the chance to show off what he can because that woman is always pulling him down and raising an idea that is 'brilliant'. You see? She's always doing the dirty work with her mouth alone. She's manipulative and I hate it. We hate it. Amara took a glimpse from her watch and her eyes widened. "Wow. It's too early for a tea." she said jokingly emphasizing the tea earning a laugh from all of us. "Why were you absent anyway?" I asked Draevon as he never mentioned why he wasn't there at the event. It was a big question for me. Considering that it was his younger sister's graduation. "Do you know allorica?" he asked not looking at me. "uh huh." I responded while gently nodding my head. Allorica is currently one of the most famous call center industry in the Philippines. They give pretty good salary so it's not so much to ask why they have numerous employees. "What's the deal with Allorica? Did you gave up your college plans and decided to just work for Allorica?" I asked looking at him while my mouth half full. He then scoffed and threw me some rice that I quickly avoided. "What?" I asked sounding confused because I really am. "No, silly. They offered me a job. They said I'll have to work 3-5 hours every weekend and I'll receive 30-60 thousand a month. Depending on my performance as a part time junior technician." he explained. I just nodded simultaneously as I already understand but I can't answer him as of the moment since my mouth is full. Mom always taught me not to speak when my mouth is full and I'm just putting the knowledge into practice. Another slap back to aunt Ruby who said we were smart but we don't show it. lol. Amara raised her fork with an egg on its tip right in front of her mouth. "You won't need it though. Dad can certainly provide us with money and everything else that we need." she said before eating what's on her fork. "Technically, yes. However, since Allorica is a big and known company, it would give me an impressive background or experience for the future purposes." he answered making Amara shrug her shoulders as if telling him that he has a point. I was laying at my bed hyping about EXO's Kokobop. Saturday morning with EXO is a mood! "Acckkkk! You look so handsome, Sehun-ssi!" I shouted as I saw how Sehun look so ethereal in this music video. I can't help but fall in love even deeper. "Marry me, oppa!" I screamed at the top of my lungs while rolling myself in bed when I suddenly heard a knock on my door. I quickly exited the YouTube app and sat down properly as I fix my hair and my clothe. "Come in!" I said once I was done fixing my appearance. The door then opened as it dwells mom inside. She looks anxious. "Why?" I sincerely asked the moment she sat down at the edge of my bed. "Your cousin, Amethyst, is competing for a beauty pageant but it also requires a talent portion." she started looking down. "And?" I asked waiting for her to continue. I don't get why she's becoming anxious over something that doesn't involve her. It's not as if the pageant wouldn't take place without her approval. She's getting mentally exhausted about something that she doesn't need to think about. I'm worried. "And after hearing you play the piano, well," she pursed her lips looking more anxious. "she wants you to play. They want you to play." wait. What? Aunt Ruby and her kid is relying on me? Relying on someone they belittled? Just say no, mom. They don't deserve my help. "That's not quite a problem, mom." I started sounding annoyed but I kept my voice low. "Just turn them off and let them hire someone to accompany Ame." I said firmly. She looked straight into my eyes while eyebrows are in a knot. "It was granny who called." she responded making me gulp my own saliva as my eyes widened. I haven't yet to hear what her response was but I'm expecting it already. "I said yes." my body was in a complete chill and my body just won't move. It's as if I was bathed with ice during winter. Eyes were blinking twice as normal wishing that I just heard it wrong or maybe this was a dream. If it is, please wake me up.
