When Ashton left, I threw myself backwards on the bed. I hated how he stirred up old feelings. Why couldn’t he just let me live in peace with Roman?
Roman hadn’t been gone but a few hours but I was already missing his presence. He didn’t give me any details about what was going on with his pack back home, but I assumed it was pretty pressing for him to have to leave suddenly.
My thoughts drifted to his friend Kane and I was instantly struck with guilt. Yes, he was extremely good looking, but he wasn’t my mate. Nobody could compare to Roman, everything about him was perfect. Since we had met, he had never fallen short of being the perfect man.
