Staying the night

Selena POV:

Ethan was on edge and he wouldn't tell me why, he also didn't get to finish whatever it is that he wanted to tell me. "Ethan," I said touching his hand, he took my hand and squeezed but didn't look at me. He was focused on whatever it is, he was sensing. I couldn't sense anything out here, I had never been out in the woods before and there were too many scents and without a wolf, it was difficult to even focus on one.

"Let me get you back," he whispered and I stood up, a cold feeling crawling up my spine again. He shifted and I climbed onto his back and he instantly started running. The trees were a blur with silver light. I was mesmerized by the beauty of it and then there was a flash of red eyes, I turned my head, trying to make out what I had seen. My stomach had dropped and I could feel the fear coursing through me. I buried my face in Ethan's midnight fur as he continued to run. When I looked up again, it was like the trees that now blurred together were no longer magical but looked more like shadows blending together, reaching out to me. Trying to get me.

We had stopped and in a very quick motion, Ethan transformed back with me still on his back and moved quickly inside the pack house. Closing the door behind him. My heart was pounding in my chest as he ran to my room, I was worried for whatever he was so afraid of and those red eyes... Could Raze have been out there with us?

Once we got to his room, he locked the door behind me and laid me on to the bed. He started pacing and even went to the window to look out. What was he looking for? "Ethan, are you okay?" I asked, standing up and walking towards me. In one quick motion, he spun around and kissed me hard. "I'm fine," he said when he had pulled away but I was left feeling flustered. I had a feeling that he was lying to me or atleast hiding something from me but then he smashed his lips into mine again.

I reached up my hands and caressed his cheeks. His hands were around my waist and he gripped me tighter. I didn't want to wait, I wanted him so badly. I needed him! I let my hands roam to his bare chest and felt him growl in approval, I pulled away from our kiss and looked up at him. I wanted him, even if this wasn't permanent. I wanted to experience this. Is that not enough? "Ethan," I whispered and he brushed a strand of my hair behind my ears, "if you want to wait then we can," he said and kissed my forehead.

This was all so confusing. I didn't know what was going on between us or how to even describe the feelings I felt whenever I was around him. I lusted for him but also he made me feel safe and secure. I liked being around him, I just didn't know why. "I don't know what I want," I said as I looked away, he pulled my face back to his, "it doesn't matter because I will respect whatever it is that you want." I pulled away and turned around, "let us take things slow for a bit," I said feeling overwhelmed by my feelings.

He reached his arms out and the wrapped around me, enveloping me in warmth and that delicious scent of mint. "I can wait for you." His words were honey and I closed my eyes blissfully, "I'll need to get back to my room," I whispered as we stood there like that, just enjoying each other's touch. "Don't," he said as he turned me around and looked into my eyes, "stay with me. It's not safe." I frowned at the last part.

"Why is it not safe?" I asked and he sighed, "I don't really know, just a feeling." I couldn't argue with that. I also had moments where I felt unsafe, especially around Raze. "Does this have anything to do with Raze?" I asked and saw him grimace at the name, "I don't trust him and I want you to stay away from him!" He was aggressive in getting his point across. I took a step back, "it's not up to me to stay away from him," I noted bitterly and he furrowed his eyes brows in confusion. "Nevermind," I rolled my eyes as I made to leave and he grabbed my shoulders, shaking his head in defeat, "okay, okay, I'm sorry." He said and I stopped and looked up at him, my anger disappearing, "how about I make you a deal," he proposed, "no more talk about Raze or anything in this room. I promise." I gave him a small smile and nodded in agreement, "okay. I can deal with that." He smiled at me, "thank you, now please stay the night with me." His eyes were begging me to say yes and I couldn't deny that I didn't want to leave either. I nodded. "Why not?" A huge smile crept across his face and he picked me up and spun me around as I giggled and laughed with surprise and genuine happiness.

He put me down and kissed all over my face. "You make me feel so happy Selena," and there it was, that warm feeling again. I wish I knew what it was, it would make all of this easier to understand. I kissed him back and we both enjoyed our slow and lingering kiss.
