New Duties

Selena POV:

I woke really early before dawn could even break. It was the second time that I had felt truly well rested. The first time was when Ethan also fell asleep next to me. I needed to start my day and I didn't want anyone seeing me leaving his room at this hour. I gently removed his arm from my body, instantly regretting it because of the warmth I felt instantly leave my own skin. I quietly rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up. I stared at myself in the mirror and blushed as my mind wandered back to how I was naked in front of him and I wanted him. I couldn't afford to get aroused now because I needed to get down to the kitchen for my daily duties. I tied up my hair and brushed my teeth with his tooth brush. I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

Once I had safely left his room without waking him. I started walking really fast to the kitchen to avoid being seen by anyone. "Selena!" Called Ro as I was about to enter the kitchen, I turned around to face her, my heart beating wildly in my chest. Did she see me? "Yes, Ro," I answered shakily, she walked towards me in her typical 'I have a job to do' manner and I gulped. "No kitchen duty today," she said and I looked at her puzzled, "why?" She shook her head in irritation, "The guest requires you and the Alpha and Luna have insisted that you cater..." It didn't matter what she was saying, I could feel the panic growing. I was to spend time serving Raze. "Does that mean I have to dress like yesterday?" I asked, looking her dead in the eyes. She shook her head, "the way you are dressed now is fine." She scrunched up her nose and put her hand into her apron pocket, feeling around for something. "It's none of my business what happens between you and the young Alpha but you cannot walk around smelling like him." She tossed me a small bottle of the scent neutralizer. I gave her a small smile and then she shook her hand as if to say why are you still here?

Atleast I just needed to serve Raze until school starts. Then I would leave and I would have a full day away from him. I was so in my head, I didn't notice a strong arm pull me into the utility closet. "Hello little one," greeted Raze, flashing me a pearly white smile. "Raze, I-" I felt panicked at his unexpected appearance. "Don't worry, I thought that I would come and meet you," he smiled. "You didn't have to come all this way-" "Selena," he interrupted as he took my hand in his. "There is so much I need to disclose to you about this place," he said, his eyes were filled with emotion, I pulled my hands back. "Look-" I started but he cut me off once more, "I am sorry about last night, I just couldn't control myself," he said looking ashamed of himself, "please give me a chance to explain, come with me and I promise it will all make sense." I frowned, unsure of what to do. I needed answers. That, I was sure of. I needed to know what was going on, how did Raze fit into all of this and why is my birthday of any significance?

"Okay," I said and he smiled at me, "thank you. I promise you won't regret-" "Wait! Before you get ahead of yourself, when I want to leave, I want the freedom to." He nodded at me and continued to smile, "I promise." I felt a bit more comfortable now and took a deep breath before releasing a big sigh of relief.

He opened the door of the utility closet and bowed to me, I shook my head as I walked past him. "We can take my car," he said as he closed the door behind us, "we're not going to your room?" I asked alarmed and he flashed me another one of his charming smiles, "how forward of you but I prefer to take things slow." His response caught me off guard. He glanced at my face and laughed. "You are so cute when you are stunned." He whispered as he licked his lips.

"So where are we going?" I asked, ignoring his comments, "you'll see," he smiled again at me and this time I felt a warm feeling come over me, it made me feel so sleepy and calm. Maybe I was still tired from last night with... What was I thinking? It was like my thoughts were getting all muddled.

"Are you okay?" He asked and I looked at Raze, he seemed to glow and I started to notice how gorgeous he truly was. So Godlike in his appearance. "Yeah," I blushed as I looked away after realizing that I was staring for a bit too long, "just a long night I guess," he put his hand on my waist and slowly pulled me towards him, "lets hope not too long of a night."
