Mates

Selena POV:

I was surrounded by darkness. A restful sort of darkness. The kind you experience when you are so tired that you sleep without dreams. "Selena!" Echoed Ethan's voice through the darkness, huh? "Ethan?" I started to follow the echoes, "Selena!" He cried out again, this time more desperate. I felt a deep pull within me and when I opened my eyes, my hands were wrapped around Ethan's throat, squeezing. I stepped back, letting go. Shocked and disturbed by what I was doing.

He looked surprised too and instantly grabbed at his throat as he coughed and spluttered for air. What just happened? I started to panic, I spun around and Raze was mere inches from my face, looking perplexed. "How did you-" "What did you do to me!?" I screamed, he seemed amused by my reaction. "Sweet Selena-" before he continued, I struck him across the face hard. It surprised both of us. "I want to leave and I want you to stay away from me." Anger flashed across his face and he grabbed my wrist, squeezing and hurting me. I was doing everything in my power to not cry out. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction. "I can't let you go Selena, remember what I told you, what we share," he seemed to he grasping now, trying to get me back. "No! I feel nothing for you and when my birthday comes and if you are who you say you are, I will reject you!"

In a quick motion he grabbed the back of my hair and pulled my head back, his eyes glowing red. "Get your hands off her!" Growled Ethan, I had forgotten that he was there. Raze seemed to have forgotten too, he lifted his two slender fingers, "come with me or I will vaporize him!" I looked at him shocked, before I could even respond or react, the doors burst open and a dozen guards piled into the room, along with the Alpha and the Luna. "Raze!" Growled the Alpha and Raze did not seem at all taken aback, just annoyed. He wrapped his arm around me and spun me into him, I struggled to get out of his grasp.

"Remember our agreement August," smiled Raze calmly and both the Alpha and Luna froze, "maybe we can discuss this in private," said Luna Anna, trying to diffuse the situation. "No! He needs to be sentenced to death! Selena is my mate and-" "Silence Ethan!" Shouted his father, I could feel him using his Alpha authority on the whole room.

But it didn't seem to affect me because I kept looking at Ethan, my heart had started to race as I realized that the feelings that I had for him and the way he was treating me. It all made sense if we are mates. That means Raze couldn't possible be my mate. "My offer still stands Selena come with me or I will vaporize him!" "You weren't offering me anything!" I exclaimed, he gripped me tighter into him, "Raze, you can take her. Just leave our son! Please!" Begged Luna Anna. "No!" Growled Ethan and he shifted right there instantly before pouncing towards us. He took Raze down as I rolled away to the side, scrambling to get up. Raze had thrown him across the room and his wolf whimpered as he shot through the glass door, shards flying everywhere. "Ethan!" I screamed in a panic. I looked back at Raze with anger in my eyes but he wasn't looking at me, he was looking at the luna and alpha. "I gave you a chance," he said angrily and then he started to disintegrate into red and black ash before he completely disappeared into a cloud of smoke.

I ran to Ethan but guards pulled me back and held me tightly. "Let me go!" I screamed and the Luna walked over to me and slapped me hard across the face, "you've done enough!" She shouted before running towards her son's body, he had shifted back but was unconscious now. "Lock her up in the dungeons!" Ordered Alpha August, "I'll deal with the b***h later!"

I struggled to get loose from the guards grip and I strained to see if Ethan was okay, his parents were both on their knees, cradling him. That was the last thing I saw as they pulled me away and dragged me to the dungeons.
