Heart sickness

Ethan POV:

I was running along the border when I felt it. A weird kind of pain in my heart. My wolf yelped as I crashed and tumbled into a tree. I shifted back into my human form. Something was definitely wrong. I pulled myself up and felt a heavy pit in my stomach, Isaac showed up and shifted in front of me. "What's wrong?" He asked, the feeling was so uncomfortable that I could not even give him the same usual treatment of dislike. I clutched at my chest, "Help me back to the pack house!" I commanded, his face hardened and he nodded in determination as he lifted my arm around his neck and pulled me along, supporting and carrying all of my weight.

Alice POV:

I watched as Isaac half carried, half dragged along Ethan. Raze wasn't lying. I stood near the study window as I continued to watch. "Alice," said Luna Anna as she walked in, I turned around, smiling blissfully. She rolled her eyes in disgust, "where is Ethan?" She asked and I gestured towards the window, "making perfect time according to the plan!" I was smirking with satisfaction. I was definitely becoming Luna at this rate. She cleared her throat and I looked up at the old wench again, "what?" I asked and she narrowed her eyes at me, "remember your place if you want anything to do with my son!" She growled, "where is Raze!?" I shrugged my shoulders and she clicked her tongue in irritation before storming out. I continued to watch the fruits of my labour bear before me.

Ethan POV:

Something was definitely wrong. I mindlinked my parents and waited for them to come and in an instant, my mother was running outside to me, followed by my father. Worry evident on their face. "What's wrong!?" Cried out my mother as she touched my face and screamed orders for someone to get me some clothes or a blanket. "Mom," I shivered, "what is it my boy?" She asked, "where is Selena?" I asked, I watched her face contort into one of irritation, "I don't know," she answered and I could feel myself growing weaker, the pain in my heart, turning into a burning feeling. I turned to Isaac, "take me to Selena!" I commanded and he nodded and made to lead me away, "No!" Growled my mother, "he needs to get to the clinic! Selena can wait!" She was angry, "Selena needs-" I started, but my mother cut me off, "she needs her mate, healthy and strong!" Her words had me defeated, she was right. Selena would be in pain and suffering if anything happened to me, after all, I claimed her. I nodded and allowed Isaac to lead me to the clinic.

"Isaac?" Called Alice at the entrance of the clinic, I groaned in exasperation, what was she doing here? He looked at me and back at her and grew more solemn in appearance. He continued to walk, ignoring her. "Isaac!" She called as she jogged up to us, "what Alice!?" He snapped and she took a step back, putting on those crocodile tear eyes, "I just wanted to see how you were," she breathed out, Isaac growled in irritation and continued to pull me along to the Alpha infirmary, "leave me the f**k alone Alice!" Growled Isaac. "Ethan," said Alice pretending to notice me for the first time, "what's wrong with you?" She asked as her hand reached for my bicep. I tried to shrug her off but her grip only tightened, "Isaac..." I breathed out and he instantly understood and pushed her off me, she stumbled backwards but didn't lose her balance or her ability to stare daggers at Isaac. However, it was enough for her to get the message and leave us the f**k alone.

"The Alpha mindlinked me!" Exclaimed the panicked female doctor, she was new. What happened to Doctor Aurora? "You're new," I breathed out shakily as Isaac helped me onto the examination bed, she smiled. "Today's my first day," she said as she pulled out her stethoscope and plugged them into hear ears and placed it on my heart, "take a deep breath for me," I did as she wanted but cried out in pain at the sharp shooting pain that stabbed at my heart. "What's wrong with me!?" I screamed and she took a step back, averting her gaze uncomfortably, "I think your friend should leave the room while we talk," she said and Isaac nodded before leaving.

She watched him go and then made to check my blood pressure casually, "have you found your mate?" She asked, I nodded, confused by her question, "why? Is this affecting her too?" I asked as I started to worry about Selena. What if she was writhing in pain like me!? Oh Goddess! "I would say the pain is relative to both of you," said the new doctor apprehensively, "what does that mean?" I asked and she bit her lip anxiously.

I waited for her to answer, my mood darkening the longer she took, "answer me!" I commanded with my alpha tone and she jumped a little, "it's heart sickness..." I looked at her confused, "what does that mean?" I asked again, even more annoyed by her vagueness. "Well, it's when- uhm... You see, it's when someone has a mate and that mate..." She looked extremely nervous now, "Spit it out!" I growled, my worry increasing with every breath this stupid doctor was taking, "it's when someone's mate cheats on them!" She exclaimed, dropping her clip board.

My whole world seemed to freeze as the pain stabbed at my heart again. This time, even more unbearable.
