Drakos groans before flipping us, my back hitting the bed. He doesn’t waste a second pressing his lips to mine and devouring my mouth. My hands slide down his back and a growl rumbles through his chest. He pulls his mouth away but stays close, “mine.” I look at his eyes as they flash a golden colour. He blinks and they go back to his usual green. His wolf just emerged. “What is your wolf’s name?” I ask in a whisper as my finger traces his jaw. He smiles softly at me, “Freki.” My eyebrows knit together, “Odin’s wolf? Like god of war?” He nods with another small smile. “My mate, so wise and beautiful.” He caresses my face and looks at me like the most precious thing in the world. I am glad to have distracted us both for a few minutes but I know we will address his siblings still. “Now,” he says whilst standing and pulling me to stand with him. “Let’s go deal with my siblings.” He begins leading us out of my room. At the bottom of the stairs he asks one of the maids to fetch his Josiah and Issy. We make our way to the Alphas office and Drakos leads me to his chair. He gestures for me to sit and then stands beside me. Not two seconds after the door knocks and Josiah pokes his head in. He seems surprised to see me sitting here but comes inside followed by Issy. They both sit on the opposite side of the desk and I shift uncomfortably in my seat. “We all know you both love Cleo, you have all been friends for years. But you are making her feel unsupported in your mission to match make.” Drakos tells them both and they look at me with regret. “And it is quite frankly pissing me off.” “I’m so sorry Cleo, I was only trying to help. I- I didn’t mean to upset you. I love both of my brothers and would be happy with whoever you decide to be with.” Issy sits forward in her chair. “I just wanted you to know I would still be your friend regardless of your choice.” “But that is what I have been trying to explain Issy. There is no choice. Drakos is my mate, that’s the end of it.” My eyes flit to Josiah and I see the hurt there. “I am really sorry Josiah. If I had been your goddess given mate then I would have happy. But we aren’t mates. I love you as a friend, even as a big brother. But that is all.” Josiah nods at me, “I understand.” “Can we please put this to rest now?” Drakos asks. “It is really disheartening that both my siblings are against me.” “Drake I-“ Issy stands from her chair. “It wasn’t like that. Of course I want you to be with Cleo. You deserve a mate like Cleo. I just -“ she struggles with her words and tears build in her eyes. Drakos steps around the desk and hugs Issy. “It’s okay, I know you have a stronger bond with Josiah. I have not been around enough for you little sister.” He sighs as he steps back. “I promise that will change too.” He then pulls Josiah into their hug too. “And I am sorry to you too Josiah. I really am sorry that my mate turned out to be the same girl who holds your heart. The guilt will haunt me forever.” I cannot help the small smile on my lips as I watch the trio of siblings. - My palms are sweating as I wait beyond the curtain. The ceremony is held in the banquet hall, it is the grandest of events. All pack members must attend and black tie is compulsory. The music quiets so I know the time is soon. I run a hand over my dress again. It is perfect! I did dark smoky eye makeup before adding a line of gold eyeliner. My shoes and bag are black. I hear the crowd quiet next before Drakos begins to speak. “Thank you for gathering here this evening. An Alphas job is to look after their pack, but it can be a lonely job too. I am pleased to have finally met my beautiful mate, your Luna.” There is a short applause before they grow quiet again. “I would like to welcome Elder Cottrell, who will be conducting the ceremony for us this evening.” Drakos steps from behind the curtain to join me. “Ready darling?” He strokes a hand down my cheek. “You look stunning by the way.” I nod and try to smile but I am sure it comes out uneasy. Drakos places a kiss on my forehead and then we stand hand in hand waiting. The curtain slowly begins to pull back and Drakos squeezes my hand in support. “Alpha Drakos and Luna Cleo,” Elder Cottrell announces to the pack. We step forward and turn to face the Elder. He holds out a glass toward us. Drakos takes it first before drinking from it. He then passes it to me and I do the same. The Elder nods to Drakos and he turns to me. He gently swipes the hair off my shoulder before leaning forward. He inhales and presses a soft kiss to my throat. I gulp at the sensation and feel him smile against my skin before pulling back a little. “I Alpha Drakos, accept you Cleo as my goddess given mate. I lay claim,” he announces before biting me. As his teeth sink in my throat I feel a current zap through me followed by unconfined pleasure. A moan escapes my mouth before Drakos removes his teeth and licks the wound. As he stands back his eyes are the gold of his wolf and his grin is huge. My own grin rivals his as I watch my mate with awe. ‘Mine’ a voice coos in my head and I jump in surprise. Drakos smiles at me softly before telling the pack to enjoy the celebrations. He leads me from the stage and into a private room. ‘I am your wolf Cleo, my name is Surie. I am a direct descendant of Luna, moon goddess.’ I stand with my mouth agape as I register what she has said. Direct descendant of Luna. LUNA!
