Chapter 1: Moving To A New Town
I can’t believe that my mom and dad made me move here. I know that it is good that my Dad got a better paying job, but I did not want to leave all of my friends. I hate being the new girl. We just moved to Cuttersville, Colorado. It is a very small town that is located deep within the forest. I had to leave all of my friends behind. Especially my best friend Rachel. I am going to miss her so much.
Hi, my name is Elle Monroe and I am 17 years old. I have brown hair and brown eyes. I am sIim and about 5’4” in height. I am pretty smart and there is not a shy bone in my body. I am just starting my senior year of high school in about a week in a brand new school where I know no one.
We just arrived in Cuttersville and pulled into the driveway of our new house. The house is pretty decent looking. It is a 2-story brick house with a front porch with a swing on it. As I look around at all of the other houses, it seems like a nice neighborhood. The moving truck pulls up to the curb and the guys start unloading our belongings.
“Elle, go ahead and find your room. You can start unpacking your things.”
“Ok mom, I will do that.”
I walk into the house and go upstairs. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. This house is huge. I check out each room and pick one. I am taking the bedroom that is closest to the stairs and the furthest one from my parents room. I am an only child so the other rooms will be guest rooms or used for something else. I have a decent sized room. It will definitely fit my king sized bed. There are two doors in this room. One leads to a huge walk-in closet and the other goes to my own bathroom. The moving guys have just brought in my bed and set it up. They have also brought in all of my boxes. I guess it is time to unpack.
I put some music on and put my hair up into a bun. Let’s do this. I find the sheets, pillow cases and comforter for my bed and make it. I then unpack all of my clothes and shoes into the walk-in closet. I have so many clothes. Then I set up my desk and put my laptop on top. Next is my book shelf. Then I put all of my toiletries in the bathroom and set it up. Now I am done. The movers just have to bring in my TV and hang it on the wall. I break down all of the boxes and take them downstairs and to the back yard where the garbage cans are. Wow, we have a huge backyard with a deck and a swimming pool. This is awesome! I love my new house.
Then I go back into the house and help my mom unpack all of the kitchen things. Once that is done, I help set up the rest of the house. After 4 hours of unpacking, I look around and everything is in its place. My mom and dad just went upstairs to set up their room. I asked if they wanted any help, but they said no. Well, I guess I will take a shower because I am all sweaty.
After my shower, I go back downstairs and out to the backyard. My dad is sitting on the deck with a beer and is just relaxing. I hear laughing and yelling and look over at my neighbor’s house and see a group of guys hanging out and swimming. Wow, some of them are so hot. I look up and I meet the eye of the hottest guy that I have ever seen in my life. He is ripped and has brown hair and blue eyes. He looks to be about my age. He is just staring at me. I immediately look down and when I look back up he is still staring at me with a smile on his face.
All of a sudden, there is a shriek and I see three girls come into their backyard. I see a very pretty blond girl go and kiss the hot guy that it looking at me. He tries to push her away, but she clings to him. I just roll my eyes and tell my dad that I am going to go inside.
He says, “Ok.”
I then look over at the guys one more time and that guy is still looking at me. He winks at me and then starts to talk to his friends. I get up and they all turn to look at me and I just shake my head and go inside. I go up to my room and just lay on my bed scrolling through my phone. I put in my headphones and listen to some music. All of a sudden, there is a knock at my bedroom door and my mom peeks her head in.
She says, “Hey Elle, come downstairs and meet some of our new neighbors. They are in the backyard.”
I say, “OK.”
