Chapter Sixteen

Matrix de Silva's POV My mouth hung open when I saw Clarinet's legs in front of me. Her position had me dumbstruck and nervous. She was bent over her luggage when she led it out of my room just in time I opened my door. She was only in her bathrobe and I was thankful that the cloth was thick or else I'm doomed. "Clari!" I exclaimed and she immediately straightened up. She muttered something odd as she supported her head with her hand. "Didn't I tell you not to move? It's barely a week yet and you are so stubborn!" I ranted and helped her sit on my bed. "Where does it hurt?" She shook her head. "You were yelling too much! I was startled!!" She reasoned out and I sighed. "Where are you planning to take this?" I asked, pointing out the luggage. "I don't have any clothes to wear. I forgot to get this yesterday." She said and then blushed. She consciously clasped her hands on the bathrobe's collar and avoided my eyes. She abruptly stood up and held on to the luggage's handle. "I'll just get change." She said and left me stunned in my room. -- I immediately changed into comfortable sando and jogging pants before walking out of my room and into the kitchen. I saw Clarinet taking out the foods from the styrofoam and placing them on plates. I helped her set the table as I get us some rice and utensils. There was an air of awkwardness as we ate our foods. "How are you feeling?" I started and looked at her. "I'm good, I guess. Although, my eyesight is a bit hazy." Clarinet said and meet my eyes. "I can check them for you later. Is that okay?" I asked. She nodded. "I'll just clean these up then check on you later. You can stay at the living room." She stood up and followed my instructions. I hurriedly finished washing the plates and utensils and placed them on the dishwasher. I went to my room and retrieved my tools in eye check-up and went to her at the couch. I lifted her head and placed my small flashlight on her eyes. She looked away at first but when our eyes met, I almost lost it. The attraction between us is so hard to resist. I may bully her from the day we met but I cannot deny that I am into her. I started finding her presence since the day we sat beside each other at the bus last month. It was such a wonderful blessing when I saw her again at the hospital and an even brighter hope when I was assigned to take care of her needs. Her eyes may be partially flawed but it was something doable and I wholeheartedly accept her for what she is. Now, she's living with me and I'm over the moon. I was mesmerized with her moist lips which was inches away from me and I started leaning down on her for a kiss when I fu***** sneezed! It was so stupid and gross of me but I couldn't control that damn sneeze! I pulled away and wiped my nostrils with the back of my hand. Clarinet let out a giggle which erupted into fits of laughter. She was staring at me and laughing her heart out. Soon, we were laughing and holding our stomachs because of that weird encounter earlier. "Omg! You're planning to hit on me, huh!" Clarinet teased and continued laughing. My face reddened in embarassment and laughed along with her instead. "Are you sure that you showered? Why did I sneeze like that?" I teased back and smirked at her. Annoyed, she threw the pillow at me and I had to cross my arms to shield myself from her attacks. "Asshat!" Clarinet snarled and slapped me before storming out of the living area to her room. "Why do you have to be this cute?" I sighed and smiled to myself as I looked at her bedroom door. I rested my back on the sofa and lazily doze off.
