Chapter Fifteen

665 Words
It was my third day here in Matrix's condo unit and I can say that I was well taken cared of. He never let me move even a muscle. He was there every step of the way. I'm like a child learning how to walk. And Matrix does well with that. Not to mention his patience. Matrix explained to me that I may resume to my usual activities slowly and to avoid heavy lifting, straining and bending for a couple of weeks until the operated eyes fully heal. What really impressed me and I must commend are his cooking skills. His foods taste delicious and I am extremely grateful for him. Aside from keeping me well fed, he gave me a list of instructions to tale note of while I am recuperating in his humble abode. Clarinet, *Rest when you feel tired. Getting enough sleep will help you recover. *Wear your glasses during the day. Wear your eye shield or patch at night for 1 week or for as long as your doctor (Ehem! AKO YUN) tells you to. *You can read or watch TV. * Do not wear your contact lens for about 8 weeks or at least when your doctor (EHEM!!) says it is okay. *Do not wear eye makeup for 2 weeks. You may also want to avoid face cream or lotion. (STOP WITH YOUR SKIN CARE WHATEVER FOR THE MEANTIME.) *You can shower or wash your hair the day after surgery. Keep water, soap, shampoo, hair spray, and shaving lotion out of your eye, especially for the first week. *Do not rub or put pressure on your eye for at least 1 week. (REFRAIN YOURSELF FROM DOING SO OR YOU'LL REGRET IT.) *Do not get your hair coloured or permed for 10 days after surgery. (CURLY OR PERMED HAIR DOESN'T SUIT YOU, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? GOLDILOCKS?) *Do not bend over or do any strenuous activities, such as biking, jogging, weight lifting, or aerobic exercise, for 2 weeks or until your doctor (EHEM!) tells you so. JUST do what you're told. These are for you. Have patients at 10am and 11am today. I'll be home by afternoon. What do you want for afternoon snack aside from me? ? Text me alright? -Matrix I rolled my eyes and returned the list on the fridge's door with a ref magnet. I saw my favorite tinolang manok sitting inside the fridge and took it out. I opened the stove and let it simmer in a casserole before giving myself a generous serving of rice and munching on the chicken after savoring the soup. This man sure knows his way in the kitchen! After washing the dishes, my phone rang. It was Matrix. I answered the phone call and expected to hear his rants. "Hey, TL. How are you? Still alive?" "Yup. Why did you call?" I answered and sat on his long couch. "My 11am patient canceled. I can go home early today. What do you want for lunch? I'll go to a Drive thru." "Burgersteak." I said without hesitation. "Oks boss. See you later." He said and hung up. I placed my phone back to the center table and decided to watch television. When I realized it's almost lunchtime and I still hasn't showered, I hurried to the guestroom to get my robe and towel. I was inside the shower room and in the middle of bathing myself when I forgot my undies and clothes. I frowned. I still haven't unpacked my clothes from the other luggage. I brought two luggages with me when I temporarily left the apartment. And I assumed it was in his room. I showered fast and immediately went to his room. I was welcomed with his spacious bedroom and neatly placed accessories. I saw my luggage and hurriedly went to get it out of the room when the door opened with me only in bathrobe and him, looking glammed up in his long sleeved polo and slacks.
