Alejandro’s POV
“Good morning chairman.” My secretary Jane greeted me as she entered the office.
“You have a meeting this morning regarding the new project with the board”. She added while handing me the agenda of the meeting.
“Oh yes, thank you, Jane.”
She was about to leave when she suddenly said. “Oh, and sir Felipe was with the Marine girl this morning. They seemed to have a conversation in his office.” She left after saying that.
It does look like our long-time friend has finally decided to be in good terms with us. Making a long story short. The chairman of the infamous Marine Group Corporation was my high school best friend. We became friends for a very long time, even after having businesses of our own. Our children became best friends as well. Until, some misunderstanding 11 years ago happened, and so we cut ties. We haven’t seen each other since then. And now, they seemed to be back and ready to settle with us, which I somehow found disturbing. Am I just overthinking that they could have wanted something from us or is it just that they only came back to just settle whatever misunderstandings we had in the past and become friends again.
Alora’s POV
“Good morning, Fel.” I greeted him. He was not responding as if he had not heard me, and continued reading the paper in front of him. There was a moment of silence as he was not answering, nor did he raise his head.
“ Is everything alright, pep?” The girl across from him asked.
I completely almost forgot that there was another person in the room as I was in every way focused on him. Pep? I looked at the girl. I was awed at how beautiful she was. Along with the combination of her eyes, pointy nose, plump lips and her small face makes it all perfect, even her voice sounds angelic. How could someone like her exist. Her beauty is ethereal. I seem to not know who she was. She does look familiar, but I am certain that I’ve never seen her. She called him Pep. It was Felipe’s nickname that only his siblings and dearest friends knew. They look as though they are close.
He raised his head, looked at her, and smiled. “Everything’s great. We should get going.” He said it in a very soft voice. I completely froze. It was the first time I heard him speak that way, as if he was talking to a very fragile being. He was always formal and straight forward, sometimes mad when speaking. I was completely zoned out, trying to realize what I had just witnessed of that side of him.
“ Are you okay?” I was brought back to reality upon hearing her voice.
“ahh… yes.” I said, while still trying to refocus.
I turned to face Felipe and said. “ I urgently need your signature for the execution of this project.” As I said while handing him the output. He coldly received, signed, and gave back the document, still without looking in my direction. He stands up while saying “let’s go” to her smilingly.
“Thank you.” I said. But he completely ignored me and walked pass me, heading to the door. The girl stood up and looked at me.
“Don’t mind him, he must have had a bad morning.” She said it with a beautiful smile and followed Felipe, leaving the office.
Of course he did have. After having my presence in his office right this morning could be enough reason he had a bad morning. Our marriage never had a formal setting, we only just had the signing of the contract. After that, I always wanted to make it up with him. I don’t want him to misunderstand anything. I was only following the chairman’s will, as I could not possibly disagree when he asked me for a favor. I owe him a lot, and that includes the good life I have right now. But as I was always making an effort to make up with Felipe, he always did not want to talk to me. Whenever I had to force him to have a conversation, it would always not end well, as he is short-tempered. He could not stand even a minute of being with me. Every time I appear in front of him, he always gets mad. He hates me.
I sometimes doubted myself. What was I thinking to actually agree to marry. Even though it’s only for formality, but still, how could I not have any second thoughts and consents right away. Is, not wanting to disobey the chairman could be the only reason. I’m afraid that Felipe’s misunderstanding could be true. Did I ever develop feelings for him. While he was busy pushing me away, did I kept on pulling towards him. I shook the idea. I shouldn’t be disturbed. I still need to prepare for the contract signing with the Marines, so I won’t let such an idea bother me for now. It could not be. How can I like him when he’s always been terrible to me. I am not certain as to what I am actually feeling. I should make it up to him at once, before this confusion could get any worse. But there is one thing that I am sure of as of now. Felipe Marcellus Griffin, certainly despises me.
