Chapter 3: Accident

701 Words
Afraid that he might change his mind if I moved slow, I rose up quickly while pulling his hand for some support. But what I did seems an absolute mistake because as I pulled him, he lost his balance.  We both tumbled down on the ground with me lying on my back and him almost pinned on me. No. Not almost, he did but in the most unique one. His upper body passed through my head but his Oh no! His d**k was pressed on my mouth. I was unable to move my body in shock. He got up in haste, dusting his palms stained with wet soil at one another and then held me up.  "Miss, I am sorry for being careless. Did I hurt you?" Asked by his sorry voice.  Seriously? He was apologising to me? "O-ooh I'm okay Sir!" I stuttered. I was lost of words to say. My heart was still in a mess because of what just happened. "Then let's head on our way right now." "But we were  both wet! I'm afraid you will get sick." "No need to worry about me. I am not that weak. You should worry about yourself first. I guessed you had been under this rain for long. Hurry into my car. I think I had an extra dry suit inside." He held my shoulders going to his car. Despite the cold wind and rain, I could feel the warmth from his palm on my skin. God was really teasing and playing a joke on me because just after a few  strides, a big truck suddenly approached in our direction at an intense speed. Preceded by fear and panic, I could not move and just watched the oncoming truck.  "Watch out!" The gentleman shouted, hauling me into his embrace as he blocked his back to the approaching truck. Everything was so sudden, hence, before we could dodge the truck already clashed on us. Like a sound from a bass drum and clearer than a drinking water, I heard the sound of a gentleman's breaking bones and pained moan.  Just like that, the hope for my father was gone.  While inside on the gentleman's arms, both of us flew towards the big electric pole. Even at this junction, his gentleman attitude was still there. Before we got ourselves hit on the pole, in order to secure my safety, he confined me tightly into his bear hug and let his head bumped into it.  We bounced back and fell apart on the ground like a withered vegetable and him, his entire face was bathed with his own blood. With the impact, the light on the pole also fell broken and landed in between us.  I didn't have strength to scream. I could only whisper 'Sir' while reaching his fingers with tears flooding on my cheeks. I thought he was dead on the spot but in a next second, his fingers moved and held mine. Then he slowly turned his head on me.  With the lights coming from the truck, I saw him smile at me. He spoke under his heavy breathing, "Miss, I think I can't help your father with my situation now and I am very sorry for that. If I had a chance even afterlife, I will definitely make up for you. But for now, may I have an honor to have your beautiful name?"  I whooped. "Save it! I don't want it in your afterlife. I want it this life." He coughed hard and after blood burst from his mouth. "It looks like I can't even have your name." "Barbie! I'm Barbie Heavenward." "Hmmm.. Barbie. Such a nice name. A nice name for a beautiful lady. Barbie, I'm glad to meet you." He could barely finish his words. "I am more glad to meet you." My tears dropped endlessly.  The gentleman turned silent and gradually closed his eyes. And lastly, his hand holding mine loosened. "Sir? Sir? I do not know your name yet. Wake up!" I grabbed his fingers and shook it. It has no longer had a hint of consciousness.  I was about to scream for help from the driver of the truck who seemed unscratch and only watching us, when suddenly my temples twinged with a deafening boom inside my mind. Along with it was a wringing stomach. After that, I passed out.
