01: Travelers
It was cold. The wind was blowing and the moon was glowing. It was a full moon and the trees were blowing along with the wind. September 25th, 1492, in a world full of magic and mystery, there were a group of travelers who went and concurred the world all on their own.
"Ares you know your an airhead right?" Titania said as she smiled. The silver haired boy chuckled before pulling a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Says the one who shot a wolf with an arrow." The girls mouth gapped open. She softly punched the boy as he laughed directly at her.
"That was an accident you know that!" Ares kept on laughing as the girl puffed up her cheeks. She didn't like the fact that her soon to be husband was always making fun of the things that she did. "Your a huge jerk you know that?" Titania said as Ares finally stopped laughing.
"Yeah I know." He smirked before softly touching her cheek. The silver haired male leaned in for a kiss but sadly was interrupted.
"Are you two done?" Fenrir asked as he folded his arms. Ares and Titania both looked over at their paladin friend before chuckling. "We're coming Fenrir don't worry." Titania said before pushing Ares away and picking up her crossbow.
The girl then stood up as Ares growled at her before pinching her hip. Titania softly squealed before turning around and glaring at the boy. "What?" He asked with a smirk. "Let's go short legs." Ares then walked past Titania while the girl stood in shock.
"Oh really now?" She asked before putting her hands on her hips. "Let's go or I won't give you a kiss." Ares teased as he looked back at her. Titania grumbled before running up behind the boy and kissing him softly on the cheek.
A bit of red flashed across his cheeks once the girl ran past him. He didn't like being teased by a women let alone his party member. "Oh yeah you're so dead."
Titania giggled while Glen and Fenrir rolled their eyes. You could hear the sound of Titania's giggle echo across the cave they were in but all they could do was smile and not say anything because—
Wait this story seems to be going way too fast. Let me back track a bit—
This story is about a half elf named Titania. Well in this case me. This is my story. No one knows anything about me, nor where I came from, all they know is that I exists. And that's all there is to it.
"Ow. Excuse me. Pardon me sir. Excuse me." I said as I tried to squeeze past the people in the arena. It was currently a fight going on between two people, a giant manticore. They were winning yes but they were also loosing.
"Excuse me." I said once again. All you could hear was the sound of people yelling and cheering the two on. They were two males. One looked to be a human and the other an elf from the way his ears looked. I hummed before finally finding and empty seat to sit in so I could watch the show. I made sure my cloak was still on my head as food started to fall down from behind me. I'm not really into watching these type things but it was the only entertainment in this city so I mind as well had to come."
"Woah and it seems the manticore as the elf cornered. What is his next move gonna be? Will his comrade come to his rescue?!"
The announcer said over the loud speaker. I looked around and saw that everyone was too distracted to pay attention to anything but the fight. If I were to use my crossbow, it would be obvious. Maybe I could use—
"Venus." My unseen servant. "Pull the manticore away from the elf." I said softly before she disappeared. I gulped as the two men in the arena were about to attack but suddenly the manticore got pushed back and hit the wall making the entire arena shake.
You could hear a lot of people yelling but most were confused. Especially the two who were fighting the beast.
On the other side of the arena
"Did you see that Fenrir?" Glen telepathically said to his paladin friend. "Yeah we saw." Fenrir looked over at Ares but the boy was determined to find out who did that. The silver haired elf's eye then caught a black cloak standing up to leave.
"Them." Ares said as his eyes followed the figure. Fenrir then saw what Ares was seeing but the two forgot they were in the middle of a fight.
"Oh right these two." Ares said as he grabbed his axe. "Let's go shield man." Ares said with a smirk. Fenrir rolled his eyes before pointing his sword towards the monster. "I told you stop calling me that."
"Glen, go follow that person for me will ya?" Fenrir asked as Glen looked over. "But I'm so close to her though!" Fenrir grunted before looking up at the arena box. "We need to know who that was and fast before we lose them." Glen grunted before running down the stairs of the arena.
"Fine but you owe me big time."
Back to Titania
I sighed as I walked out of the arena. I don't need to be followed by a bunch of men. You could still hear the cheers of the people inside the arena as they got louder. The match is probably over or getting close to be over.
"I need to get out of here." I said as I took a step but then I felt a hand touch my shoulder. My heart skipped a beat as I turned my head to see a red skinned boy. His eyes were as black as tare. I dropped my guard, damnit.
"Can I help you?" I asked before pulling on my hood. "Yeah you can." He said in a stern voice. I bit my bottom lip before griping the ends of my skirt. "Sorry I have somewhere to be." I picked up a small bag and threw it at the ground. Purple and blue dust came out of the bag as I heard the sound of coughing from behind me. It was a smoke bomb I made a few days ago. Good thing I didn't use it.
As soon as he let my shoulder go, I bolted. I don't have time for this. Sadly this place was crowded and it was getting dark. I needed to find a place to hide for the night and fast.
"Hey!" I heard from behind me. I looked back and saw the boy chasing me. He was quit fast. "Damn it."
"Your not getting away from me! Fenrir, Ares. I found them. Let's go!" I heard him shout from behind me. I could care less about how many friends he called, your not catching me. Over my dead body. I looked to my right and saw some hay close by. "Perfect timing." I said before turning the corner. He was getting closer.
"Enlarge!" The hay then got bigger stopping him from following me. I made a few more turns before I stopped running. I was out of breath. My body wasn't used to running this much. I was on fire. I couldn't help but slide down the wall and hug my knees. "Hopefully that got him." I said nearly out of breath as my head hit the wall.
"Oh really now?" I looked up and saw the tiefling standing at the door way. I then stood up to try and run past him but there was another one right there. The human from the arena. The doorway next to him was also blocked by the elf that was also in the arena. Great I'm cornered.
"You know today's not really my day." I said before putting my hands on my hip. A sigh escaped my lips as I rubbed my temples.
"Who are you and why did you help us?" The human asked. I tilted my head but I could barely see them since my hood was in the way. "Now I'm getting questioned like I was not just chased?"
"You ran from me."
"You touched me."
"Enough."
The elf then walked towards me but all I could do was walk back towards the wall. I then felt a cold layer behind me and I looked back to see that I was definitely cornered. He's going to hit me. I bit my lip as I looked away but all I felt was a gust of wind.
"Hm?" The elf tilted his head before putting his axe over his shoulder. "A girl?" The human coughed. "She's a girl?" "No duh dip shit."
He turned around and I lifted up my eyebrow. "So I'm not dying today?" The elf turned around and pointed his axe towards me while lifting up his eyebrow. "Unless you want to die?"
"Enough Ares." The human said pushing the elf away from me. I eyed him one last time before I looked at the human. "I'm sorry, my friend here is a little different. My names Fenrir. This is Glen and Ares." He held out his hand for me to shake.
"Titania." I said as I shook his hand. "Thank you for helping us Titania." Fenrir smiled at me before looking to his right. "Are you an elf?" He asked. I retracted my hand before clearing my throat.
"Half elf." I responded. I then heard a soft chuckle as I turned around and saw Ares smirking. "What's a half blood doing in these dangerous lands, especially a girl at that." I scuffed before folding my arms.
"I'm out exploring." What's his problem? It's like he's against me or something. "I can tell your a wizard. Would you be interested in joining our team?" I raised my eyebrow in shock and confusion. They want me on their team?
"I'm not so sure you want me on your team." I waved my hand in the air with a soft laugh. "Having another magic user could be useful after all." Glen said while shrugging his shoulders. "Plus she's good."
I felt my cheeks get hotter as I hid my ears knowing they'd be red. "Sure why not." I softly smiled as I answered. "Just don't hold us back." I looked at Ares and grumbled as they soon started walking.
"We're gonna stay at an inn tonight. Are you coming?" Fenrir asked and I nodded my head. There was an inn nearby so we just walked to that one. When we got there, it looked a little crowded.
"We'd like to request some rooms please." Fenrir said to the lady at the front desk. She looked to be in her mid 30's at least. She had red lipstick on and her hair was in a neat bun. If only I wasn't that lazy I would do my hair once in a while like that.
"Sorry sweetheart we only have 1 room available with 1 bed." Fenrir sighed before looking at the three of us. "Should we go somewhere else?" Glen shrugged his shoulders before looking at me and Ares. I didn't have anything to say so I just looked at the silver haired elf.
The boy groaned before answering. "We'll take the room."
