CHAPTER 15Ryan spent Thursday morning working on an outline for the expat article he would be pitching to the Times. He divided it into two sections: Why are expats moving to locations like Puerto Vallarta? And: What effect has that migration had on the infrastructure and local culture? He was able to add numerous questions to each section. With each question added, he became more excited about the trip, as if hunting for Jonathan Reese wasn’t excitement enough.
His excitement was interrupted by the ringtone of his cell phone. He hesitated to answer it when he saw the caller ID read “Rebecca.”. Deciding he would have to speak to her sooner or later, he reluctantly picked up.
