CHAPTER 41As lunch approached, it occurred to Miles that he and Ryan hadn’t spent much time together the last few days. Since he was leaving later that afternoon to see Ken in Chicago, he decided to invite Ryan to lunch.
They traded updates over lunch at the Blackhawk Diner. Miles began with the latest on his three new cases. Ryan filled him in on his possibilities in Madison.
“Do you have an interview for the UW job lined up?” Miles asked.
“I have a preliminary online video interview tomorrow with the department head. Assuming that goes well, they’d like me to come to Madison for another one in person on Monday.” Ryan sounded genuinely excited.
“What about transportation?” Miles asked.
