Dear Diary; #2journey

517 Words
And so my journey began, a journey from which there is no turning back, through the cold and stormy world that has suddenly grown thorns and thistles to prick me from every side. The sun burnt so hot I thought it would eat up my flesh, scoffers became as my shadow and constantly mocked my wild goose chase. The journey seemed impossible, I was hot, hungry, thirsty and needed rest. I decided to read my Book, and found in it a fountain of wisdom, I bathed myself in it. It brought forth the bread of knowledge, and it's spring of living water overflowed. I ate my fill of it, I could feel life springing back into me as I drank of its waters, it also gave me a bed of understanding to rest my weary mind. Then came the voice, one I would recognize even without the use of my ears, it was my Dad reassuring me. He urged me to keep moving as time is of essence, He asked me to keep my eyes on Him as He leads the way. My heart rejoiced, because He was with me, holding my hand and leading me on my journey. I knew then I would never get lost, neither could I be hurt. The sun could no longer eat up my flesh, and thorns broke upon touching me, scoffers mocked but this time my spirit could no longer be broken with the lashes of their tongues. I could see where I was headed and I had Him taking me there, all I had to do was go a step at a time, while He led and I followed. The journey became so smooth, He taught me all I needed to know to be successful in the land He has promised me. He taught me to build my nations with my dreams, on a foundation of faith. He taught me to make requests based on belief and it would become commands in His Kingdom, and even from the little gold that could barely meet my needs, He taught me to share with others. He made me realize that for every heart that is made glad by me, every hunger that is satisfied by means of me, and every thirst I quench. For every need that is met by me, for all help and assistance I render, and every sick I cater for, I have a favor to ask. He showed me that giving was a blessing not to the receiver alone, the giver receives multiple of what he has given. He taught me to pray and spent more time emphasizing on praises and Thanksgiving, He said to me. “Son, look around as far as your eyes can see and beyond, nations and nations, even the ends of the earth. Ask for it, bring me a sacrifice of praise, let me have a fill of your Thanksgiving, and all you ask would be given you. I was glad, I had learnt the secrets of life. I laughed, shook my head and remained positive. So many secrets, all in a Book.
