My Son My Son, I molded you with love, my breath gave you life, I crowned you king over the world, I created the trees to bow before you. Storms halt at your command, the seas give way to your feet. However you wanted more and sought to get it on your own, you left your crown and chased the wind. My heart shrinked, my soul wept, I kept your crown and sent my heart in search of you. I turned my eyes away from the swords that pierced my heart, and made deaf my ears to its cries. My heart prevailed and was victorious in bringing you home. There was great joy in my abode because my beloved Son had come back home, again to wear his crown and have dominion over the earth.
My Son My son,can a guerdon be given the heart because it beats? Can you reward the earth for bringing forth fruit? Can you give an accolade to the moon for not deserting the night skies? Or can you reimburse the sun for the light it gives you at dawn. Let the wisdom in my statutes bathe you, let the knowledge of my laws live in you, instruct your heart to cleave to my love, believe in me and understand the mysteries of your sonship.
My Son My Son, does silver and gold excite me? Do I delight in precious stones? Can your fattest bull kill my hunger? Or will wine from your vine quench my thirst? Look around Son and let your eyes teach you wisdom. The finest gold are stones for this castle, and precious stones are but sand. Silver is not good enough for my feet to step on, and marbles cannot be the floor on which I stand. Does your livestock not tremble at my voice? Will not your fruits hide behind their leaves upon my roar? The mountains melt at my gaze, and the leviathan sucks dry the waters of the earth at my command. This castle in its warmth and comfort, that cold and stormy world, the waters and everything in them is already mine. Let the mountains dance to your praises, let the waters flow with your music, make the birds sing along your song, command the trees to scream your thanks. Then will my heart be merry.
Obey my laws, meditate on my words, demand your rights, adhere my precepts, seek my knowledge and understand my wisdom. Do this and my happy heart will grant you all your wishes.
