Thea
Scarlett had approached me this morning about visiting the packs of my potential suitors. While the idea had some merit I felt a little like a prize pony being paraded around.
She had been very clear, she didn’t agree with me considering a chosen luna title but felt these were an invite at least to meet some alphas who had potential. I sighed to myself, I had always had grand romantic ideas about meeting my mate on my 18 birthday, my dreams for years had resolved around it.
In my dreams it was always the same mate, which was stupid as he had made it clear that he did not see me in that way long ago. I felt so unromantic to go of searching but as I thought more about the idea I couldn’t see the harm in entertaining it.
I looked down at the stack of papers, I had to go train with Patrick now but I would look through these later.
Down in the training rooms I was ready and waiting for Patrick when his brother rushed in.
“Sorry Patrick is held up, he asked me to help you today.”
“No problem.” I smiled. “I’ve been working in defence. How about I show you my progress and you can see what I still need to work on.”
We sparred for a short while before I was knackered. William was larger than Patrick and fought a little differently I realised that I had improved a bit but I clearly had a way to do.
Sensing my tiredness William help up his hand to call it time.
“Well done Thea, we will make a warrior out of you yet.” I laughed. “Fret not, I have no aspirations to be Iris.”
The thought of running headfirst into battle like she would filled me with dread. “I just need to be able to hold my own.”
William nodded. He had seen the fear we all felt when Scarlett was attacked and nearly lost her pups. I swore that day that I would protect those pups with my life if they survived so I thought I better get some skills to be able to follow through.
Thankfully our pack allowed all wolfs to train so I probably already the had better skills than most shewolfs, including those expected to be luna but one could never be too prepared.
Luke
Oliver had called this morning, he said as looking for an update on how things were here and to invite me back for a party. It had actually been a bit quieter. I think Edward has realised that he couldn’t intimidate me into submission.
I had managed to arrange a meeting with alpha Mathew at New Dawn, so if that went well I could have headed down to Blue Moon after. He wasn’t in any rush for his warriors back, things were currently quiet at Blue Moon.
It was a formidable pack even before Oliver found his mate and she turned out to be a gifted wolf.
He had been accepted into the alpha of alpha tournament so he wanted the warriors home before he left to protect Iris but was happy for them to stay until then. It gave me a deadline to sort out the warriors here by.
Marty had made excellent progress sorting through the warriors. He only had a few he wasn’t sure about and wanted me to assess.
He had suggested we hang out with the warriors one evening, he thought some socialising would be good for moral.
I had forgotten that I was meant to be training the girls this afternoon so I had to rush down before they thought I had abandoned them. After a good session I was pleased to see the start of progress. While the fighting they lacked the strength I was used to seeing in alpha daughters like Iris, Thea and Scarlett, they were slowly improving.
“Well done guys. I think Marty is organising some drinks for the warriors at the packhouse. Feel free to join us?”
I could see excitement in their eyes. Which I thought I was snub out before they got too carried away. “A quiet few drinks and guests are not welcome.”
I had almost had to put a ban on guests in the packhouse. I had returned late one evening to find a half naked shewolf in my bed. While I was certainly no playboy I wasn’t a saint either and as a red blooded male it had taken some control on my part to make her leave.
I didn’t feel it was a good idea to have any relations this early into taking the reins, but a guy had needs. Random hook ups had been ruined for me after I had once tasted the lips of the girl I had loved forever. I sighed when I remembered the taste of her on my lips, forever imprinted on my mind.
Thankfully she has been drunk so didn’t remember, which made the memory all that bit sadder. I shook her face from my head. It didn’t do to dwell on what couldn’t never be mine. I had vowed that night to forget about her but it transpires she was easier to leave than forget.
It was late by the time I had finished my tasks and got to the party. There was a lighthearted atmosphere in the packhouse.
The shewolfs were mingling with the warriors and everyone looked quite comfortable. There was pause as I arrived, as thought they were unsure how to behave. I walked up to Marty who opened a beer for me.
“Great idea Marty, everyone needed some down time.” I cheered his beer and stood back to survey my new pack members. It still didn’t feel real. I heard the noise volume creep back up and sighed happily.
I knew it would take some time but it felt like we were making progress turning this into the pack we wanted it to be.
Too many beers later I found myself with Sophia the young shewolf. I watched her doe eyes with interest. She was attractive, I noticed the admiring stares she received from some of the warriors. She was chatting away animatedly about something I wasn’t following.
It must have been the beer, as I found myself staring at her lips wondering what she tasted like. Pushing those thoughts form my head I excused myself for some air. Once outside I took a few deep breaths, it had clearly been a while since I had had any.
Maybe I needed to take up one of the half naked shewolfs offers soon before I got myself into trouble. s*x hadn’t been quite the same for me recently, I hadn’t really been able to be satisfied, deep down I knew why. My heart belonged to someone else, hence why I was so desperate to find my mate.
Jackson thought he was falling in love with Iris when she first came to live at his pack. He said that when he met Scarlett he learnt the meaning of true love. He definitely didn’t know I was in love with someone when he said this so I believed him. I lived in hope that meeting my mate would heal my broken heart.
Lost in my thoughts I didn’t notice Sophia creep up behind me. “Sorry alpha if I offended you. I didn’t mean to suggest you would be interested in me.” Clearly I hadn’t been listening to her at all.
“No apologies Sophia, I was miles away. It’s been a long… well a busy time.” She smiles brightly. “I was worried I had scared you off.”
I chuckled at the thought of bambi scaring anyone. “I don’t think I scare that easily. But it’s late we should probably wrap things up for the night.” I thought I saw a look of disappointment on her face as I led her back inside.
