THE RED WOLF PACK

Thomas’ pov

I had a busy morning. After training the warriors, I went to my office to do some paper work. I am the alpha of the Red Wolf pack. We are the third largest pack world wide. Just like the name, our wolves are red. We are pure red wolves. The only difference is that my wolf has black paws. We still don’t know the reason, but who cares? I am twenty-three years old and my mate rejected me for another alpha. Apparently, she is aiming to be the alpha female or the supreme luna of the largest pack in the world, the Black blood pack. Anyway, it didn’t hurt much because she was originally the pack’s slut Shaunna Dante, my gamma’s younger sister.

Well, all the best to her, because that alpha has a line of sluts like every day. I wonder how he still manages his pack with over ten thousand pack members and the paper work, man I don’t want that. ‘You lazy ass, I wonder how you handle all the pack’s paper work’, Greg tells me as he shakes his massive head. My wolf is a sarcastic prick, but I love him so much. “ Alpha, a rouge, just crossed the boarder,” one of the warrior mind links me. “ Take him to the cells for questioning. I will be there.” I could feel them hesitate, but then Evon, my beta mind links me,”Ah alpha, it’s a she and she is pure white with black paws like your wolf, though smaller.”

I ran out of my office towards the eastern border. I mind-link my parents telling them the situation and my dad follows behind. We know who that might be, but we have to make sure. We reach the sight and shift wearing shorts that are thrown our way. I go towards the wolf and her scent hits me like a ton of bricks. I can’t believe it, it’s Aurora. The last time I saw her we were celebrating her sixth birthday and we made a pact to always be there for each other.” Get her some shorts now!” I ordered my men and they scattered to find one. I run my hands through her fur and she purrs in delight.

She licks my cheek, then my neck and I chuckle, she is still so playful. “Aurora, I have missed you so much.” I tell her with tears in my eyes. We have so much to catch up on. A warrior throws a t-shirt and I shout for them to turn. She shifts and puts on the t-shirt, then she clears her throat. I turned back and enveloped her in a bear hug. Oh my goddess, she looks so much like her mother. Standing at 5’10 with a slim figure, it looked like she was starved and her beautiful black hair cascading down to her butt.

She looked lovely, “ I’m so glad I found your pack, big cousin. I have missed you like crazy. Where is uncle Tim?” She asks and I point her towards my father.

She runs and jumps on the poor old man. They fell on the ground and I think I heard a c***k. The old man broke a bone but he laughed so loudly that he shocked all the warriors present. The old man stopped laughing after his sister's pack was massacred and we never found Aurora. Now he is back to his old self. “My beautiful baby! I have missed you. I am sorry we arrived late but we looked for you everywhere and assumed David took you. We knew you would come to us and you are finally here, my precious Aurora, you look just like her.” My dad says with so much emotion and I can’t hold back, my tears flow freely.

She has always been dad’s favourite because she looks exactly like our grandmother, dad’s mom. They hold each other for a while and he picks her up and carries her bridal style towards his house where his mate is waiting patiently. I linked the pack about what had just happened and they decided on a welcoming ceremony for her. Most of our age group remember her because she used to visit when she was small and almost all the guys had a crush on her. Yes, she was blessed with extraordinary beauty. She just has this angelic beauty that no other girl has.

My mom hugged her and kissed her all over her face, she was like her daughter since she could never give birth again and they loved each other so much. They understood each other so well you would think they were mother and daughter. Now her dream has come true of having a daughter, her long lost daughter. Mom turned to helping orphans after we lost Aurora and her pack and she even took in Evon and Leila as her own children after they lost their parents during the m******e. So my beta, his sister and I were raised together and we are close, like really close.

“ Mom Terry I am so tired, please may I get a place to rest for a while, then I will tell you everything,” she says with droopy eyes. “ Of-course my love come let me show you to your room.” My mom tells her and my dad rush towards them, “ no walking for you until you recover from being under weight. I will carry you until then.” She laughs and accepts my dad’s offer. Well, now I’m jealous. I also want to be carried to bed by my mom. I make a pouty face and follow them upstairs to her old room. “What’s with that face darling,” Mom asks, “I want to be carried to bed too mom, by you. “ I say, still pouting. My parents laugh at my antics. “ Oh the big bad alpha wants to be carried by his mommy,” My mom says with a chuckle and an evil glint. Oh no , I know that look. She is telling Leila and I won’t hear the last of it.

After putting Aurora to bed, we went to the kitchen to prepare dinner, tonight we are having a family dinner. I love them because Leila gets to cook her famous fried chicken, damn that girl can cook. I know she will fall for Aurora and they will become best friends on sight if not sisters.

Aurora’s pov

I wake up from a nightmare and to think they won’t follow me to this pack, ha! I was so wrong, watching my parents being slaughtered again and again takes a toll on my small body. Even Devon is whimpering in my head. I go to the bathroom to wash away the sweat and prefer to take a hot bath. I found some dresses in the closet and they fit, so I dressed up in one and followed the sweet smell of food. My stomach grumbles, making my presence known.

“ Um hey guys, I am kinda hungry. May I get some food to settle this big stomach of mine, pretty please.” I said, looking at everybody in the room and they burst out laughing at the face I was making. That face you make when you are pressed and you really need to go, yes, that face. I know it’s not appropriate, but it got me food immediately. “ So welcome to the Red Wolf pack and I hope you will be staying for good, I could use a best friend or a sister.” Some girl said and I frowned and looked at her funny. “ Oh I’m Leila, this guys’ baby sister.” She says pointing between Thomas and Evon. I just nod and continue stuffing my face with food.

One year later

“Enough Rory!” Leila shouts and taps out from that weird position I was pinning her. “We’ve been training partners for a year and you are still slacking. Get up bestie, we need to pass that protector's test. I can’t be a protector alone. I need you. We are like two sides of a coin. We can’t be separated after you worked so hard to make me dream with you.”

“Okay, I’m getting up. By the way the Black blood pack is coming today.” Leila says as she walks towards a bench to rest. “ I know you don’t have to remind me every time.” “I heard the alpha is a total man w***e and has sluts in each pack he visits and Shaunna is his slut from this pack.” Leila says with a furious expression, I know why anybody will be furious with her, she rejected her true mate just for power, just to be the supreme luna. “ Whatever I don’t care, let women live their lives.” “What if he is your mate?” She asks looking amused, Devon perked up ‘If that w***e is my mate we reject him I will not stoop so low’ “ Well we have decided that we will reject him immediately because he is not worth it.”

Leila just looked at me with an amused smile, she knows me as well as I know her. I know she dreams of meeting her mate and she deserves a good mate like her. Aurora, that’s me, I do want a mate. Everybody wants happiness with someone forever, but I won’t stoop low for my mate, even if it’s the supreme alpha. I would rather live a human life than be a mate to such a horrible man. After our training, we went home. Thomas has been anxious and we don’t know why, but he keeps telling us it will be something good. I hope so. He deserves great things. He is a great human wolf or werewolf.

Car horns wake me up from my slumber and Devon is irritated, he is huffing and pacing back and forth. Well, I didn’t want to intrude, so I walked downstairs to see what the ruckus was all about. What I saw once outside made me happy and broke me at the same time. My best friend and cousin are kissing strange people and I assume it’s their mates. As for Thomas, it’s his second chance and I’m happy for them. The sad thing is that my mate has Shaunna dangling in his arms and he is smiling at her like he can’t wait to get down with her.

‘Remember what I said, Aurora, we won’t beg for some worthless piece of s**t, so get your priorities straight and don’t let him bother you. We are too beautiful to let a bag of bones and a d**k bring us down.’ Devon is right. This piece of s**t is not worth it. I will not ignore him or do anything to avoid him, but I will show him that I don’t care what he is to me or who he is. I smile and welcome our guests, “ Welcome alpha Xavier. It’s an honor to be your host for the rest of your stay.” Uncle Tim says and I just shake my head, Devon laughing like a maniac ‘So the supreme alpha is our mate. Well played luna, well played.’

I move aside and let them pass and his scent hits me like rocks. Damn, he smells good, pine and coffee. I know I am weird, but those are my two favorite things; pine trees and coffee. Uncle Tim even planted some with me six months ago and they are really growing. I can’t wait for them to be fully grown trees. ‘Yes, so that I can be peeing on them and scratching my back on them’ , "Shame on you Devon, we are not going to do such things. Maybe scratching our backs. Yes, that will be fun."

Someone cleared their throats and I was snapped out of my daydream. I looked around and everybody was staring at me. “ Um hey, welcome to Red Wolf. I hope your stay will be amazing.” I said, looking at everybody in the eyes and smiling a toothy smile. Thomas, Evon and Leila just chuckle and shake their heads. “ Let me guess you were daydreaming about the pine trees again, weren’t you?” Aunt Terry asks with a serious expression. I could see the whole family trying to hide their laughter and the guests looking at me like they didn’t get it.

Of-course they won’t get it, they don’t know about my obsession with pine trees. “ You know me so well aunt T, I can’t get them out of my mind. Anyways, let’s go help our guests to their rooms. I bet Thomas and Leila will show their mates to their rooms.” I winked towards them and left with the guests following me. I don’t know who is who because I can’t feel the power surge they are obviously omitting. It’s a perk of mine. Only my uncle, aunt, Thomas ,Evon and Leila know that I have a male wolf and the perks he comes with it and they were all sworn to secrecy.

So I showed everybody to their rooms and, lastly, it was Xavier and Shaunna. I know I should be jealous and all, but I just don’t care. “ Well, dinner is at 6pm on the dot, have fun you two.” I smiled and walked away without a care in the world. I heard the door slam and something slammed on the wall. I ran down to the kitchen to avoid listening in on my mate and his slut. I enter the dining room and everybody turns to look at me. “ I know Xavier is your mate, why won’t you recognize him?” Thomas’ mate asks with a worried expression and I find everyone looking at me with pity besides my bestie who will die from holding back her laughter.

I smile,”Bestie just laugh it out, I know you want to.” She falls down laughing, rolling like a crazed wolf, then she stands and she looks at everyone,” If you guys are waiting for Rory to give a s**t about her mate then you are all dreaming. Well, we all know her mate is a man w***e and that’s why she will never recognize him as her mate.” Leila tells them. “ Since we are clear about that, will you all stop looking at me with pity and get me introduced to the new family members?”
