Heidi jerked her arm free and yanked the door open. Todd followed her into the car. This car was a lounge car. Each side of the car was lined with bench seats arranged in sets that faced one another. About half the seats were occupied, the passengers scattered all along the length of the car. If Todd hadn’t been specifically listening for the sound of Nick moving across the roof of the car, he’d have never heard it over the noise of the moving train.
