(A Love Proposal)
“I don't think George is the father.”
It was easier to focus on the steering wheel and his navy blue jeans than on his face. I couldn't bear to look at him. I didn't want to see the look of disappointment on his face.
He raised my chin with his index finger but I refused to look at him. “Don't do that.”
“I don't want you to look at me like that.” I felt my stupid tears overflowing.
“Like what? Like I'm happy that you've finally proven yourself to those vipers who called you names? George is my friend but he's a bloody i***t. I don't judge you, Vanessa. We all make mistakes. I know what type of person you are.” He said softly. “And that's all that matters.”
I finally mustered courage to look him in the eye and truly there was no disgust or
