Detective Mack Stone POV
Chery had taken Maddy home to get some sleep so I had all night to think about the bombshell that she had dropped on me. I was still in shock, how could she be pregnant? After years of trying, unsuccessfully, to get pregnant how was it possible now? Could she have been sleeping someone else? I had been so lost in thought when Dr. Stevens came in to check on me.
“How are you this evening?” He asked as he looked over my chart.
I was still a little distracted. “I’m good, I guess.” I thought a moment. “Hey doc, do you have a wife or kids?”
