The Begining
The smell of cloves was strong in the air as she entered her home. She followed the smell into her kitchen where her roomate, Kirsten, seemed to be trying out a new recipe. Being the head chef at "Apprentice" he was always cooking up new delectibles to serve to Vallor the owner. "Is that a new recipe I smell? Delicious" I put my coat and purse on top of the kitchen table and gave Kirsten a big hug hello. "Hey Gorgeous. Just trying out a new recipe. I am trying to impress Vallor. I made a pumpkin cheesecake brownie. Kirsten brushed his dark hair out of his steel blue eyes. The timer on the oven started to chime and Kirsten took the brownies out of the oven. "Would you like to be my taste tester?" A big smile overcame my lips as I said "Would I ever? Yes please!" "I love how your green eyes sparkle when you are about to try one of my new recipes" Kirsten grinned I grabbed a plate from the cabinet and handed it to him. He cut out a small square of the gooey goodness. My mouth watered at the sight of the brownie. Kirsten's fingers brushed against my hand as he handed me my plate back. Little volts of electricity went through my body. I pushed my brown hair out of my face while taking a bit of the brownie. "Oh My. This is amazing" I groaned A smile spread across Kirsten's lips. "I'm glad you like it" He said "Like? I Love it." I mumbled in between bites of my brownie. Kirstens phone started to ring. A worried look came across his face and he looked at the caller ID. "Excuse me." He said walking down the hall towards his bedroom. I sighed as I placed my plate in the sink. Kirsten and I have been best friends for the past 5 years. We recently moved in together thinking it would be a great way for both of us to save up money. Plus we got along so well. We met when I was dating his friend Gabe, but Gabe cheated on me and left me for a red headed bimbo named Tina. Gabe was a bartender at Apprentice and Tina was a waitress. Kirsten was there to pick up the shattered pieces of my heart. I thought Gabe and I were going to get married. Then one day I woke up and found out he moved to LA with his mistress Tina. Kirsten was very sweet and kind. He became someone I confided and trusted in. I would always cherish his friendship above all else. Only recently I started thinking of Kirsten of being more than just a friend. I didn't know if he felt the same and I didnt want to ruin our friendship if he didn't feel the same? So I decided to keep my thoughts to myself. The slamming of the bedroom door awoke me from my daydream. I looked at Kirsten and he was rushing around the apartrment. He looked worried. "Is everything ok?" I asked Kirsten stopped, looked at me and smiled " Everything is fine" He said as he grabbed his keys. "I have to go see Valor. I'll be back later." I heard Kirstens car rumble to life as it pulled out of the driveway. I turned back to the sink to finish washing my dish when I noticed Kirsten left his wallet on the counter. I grabbed his wallet on my way to my bedroom. Guess I better get ready to go to Apprentice and give Kirsten his wallet. I opened my closet door and picked out a black miniskirt with a red corset with black lacing going up the front. I brushed my hair and slipped on some black heels. I freshened up my red lipstick. I headed out the door into the garage and started my car. I closed the garage door as I drove away.
