Esi p.o.v
Esi and Kojo decided to go to the village situated behind the tall mountain. They agreed that Esi will ride her bicycle with some of her suitcases and Kojo will follow her with the other suitcase. After they had covered a little distance with great difficulties, Esi decided to take a break. Her loads were too heavy to be carried on her not so big bicycle. Resting on the road, Kojo sported a car coming their way. He immediately knew who it belongs to " Esi look! Your father is coming." He shouted in excitement. Esi knew that her father didn't have a car in the past so she wasn't sure of what he said so she asked "how do you know that he is my father?" Esi asked and added, "my father doesn't have a car."
"Are you for real? You don't even know your father, well." He said. Esi felt bad about what he said. It's not her fault if she didn't know that her father owns a car. He left them long ago so she kept quiet and look at the car approaching. It stops just before them and a man came out of the car. He was 6 feet tall with an average muscular body. His black complexion complements his brown eyes. His black hair was neatly cut with a perk of waves on it and it was flashing from afar. Esi stood still not knowing what to do. She had always wanted this moment to happen but the fact that her father was before her left her in shock and she didn't know what to do. Her father walks towards her and hugged her "my little girl, how I have missed you" he said. Esi couldn't believe that her father was hugging and it brought out the past emotions that she buried long ago. The love, the hate and the disappointment she fell a long time ago came back. she starts to cry bitterly "you left me, Dad. You left us and you never even said goodbye you never visited us too. I needed you, dad, I cried every day and waited for you every night with the hope that you will come back. Nothing, not even once did you think of me, of us, your children." She cried out pulling out of his arms and staring at him straight in the eye. She knew that looking at an elderly person in the eyes is a sign of disrespect but she cares less as she continues. " It was because of you that mama changed, because of you she stopped being a caring mother to me. She stopped loving me. It's all because of you now she had had enough to put with me and getting rid of me was her way out."
"Esi my baby I'm sorry I had no option but to leave. You will not understand Es..."
"Then make me understand dad, are you also going to get rid of me since you didn't have an option when you left us and I don't think that you will get it now."
"Nooo, baby I can never get rid of you. I love you and your Sister believe me" he said. Come let go home. We will talk more there. Wiping her tears, Esi began to walk toward the car she saw Kojo standing a little bit far. She understood that he was given them some privacy. She called him to join them so that they can go.
The ride to the village was silent Mr Kofi who was driving was sometimes looking at Esi through the rearview mirror he couldn't believe that his daughter was sitting in his car. And Kojo who kept on throwing weird looks in his direction. Maybe he couldn't believe that he has children. After 30 minutes of silent drive, they finally reached their house after dropping Kojo at his house. Esi got out of the car and look around. Compare to what she heard, this village was nothing like the one they described. It was all green and the front of the house is covered with green grass well scrape and there is a path made of gravel that leads to the entrance of the house. Without wasting more time, Esi took one of her suitcases and walk to the door but before she could even open the door, it opened itself or better say someone open it for her from the inside. "Hey, welcome Esi!." Came in a female voice. Esi lifted her head and look at the person's face. She is beautiful she taught.
"Thank you " she replied
"Wh..." but because she can ask her question, her father said "Esi meet my wife Abena and your second mother," said Mr Kofi and Esi almost tumbled. "What?"
