Esi p.o.v It has been 3 hours since they started this long journey and they have stopped once to take a break. They have also made several minors stop to allow some of the merchandisers to alight at the destination. Gradually, the loaded bus was getting empty as they continue their journey. During these 3 hours, Esi did not even attempt to call her mother. She believes that since her mother got rid of her then, she to will forget about her, however, deep down, her heart is breaking with the fact that she will never see her and Ama gain. Seated on the bus for so long, she made a friend with the guy occupying the seat beside her . she learned that his name is Desmond Kojo Mensah and he was the son of a hunter. She discovers that they are going to the same village but she has no idea where it's located. since she has never been there before. The least her mother could have done for her was to travel with her instead of putting her on the bus. The way Kojo is talking about his village is it is as if it is the most beautiful place on the entire planet. Contrary to what she heard been said about villages from her classmate who often visited their grandparents. They often said villages have no social amenities and some of them don't have electricity. Since then Esi never liked the idea of visiting a village one day but who can predict the future that no one has ever seen or lived in. After making small talks with her newfound friend, Esi napped the rest of the journey. she is tired since she wakes up early today. However, Kojo decided to stay awake so that when they reach their destination, he will wake her up if not she will find herself in another village. Hours later they finally arrived at their destination. Many people were getting down to release themselves others to choose to say while some were taken down their luggages. On the other hand, Kojo is having a hard time waking Esi up. He is doing everything possible to wake her up but nothing seems to wake her. If she doesn't wake up soon, the bus will take off without her getting down and finding her will be difficult. So he bought a sachet of cold water from one of the street vendors. He bites one of the four-pointed parts of the cold sachet water, pours it on his palm before sprinkling it all over Esi's face. Esi immediately jumps from her seat with a scream. With the look, she is giving to Kojo he quickly says "I am trying to wake you up for the ten minutes now but nothing seems to work. So the cold water was my last option." " We are here already" he adds. Esi gets confused for a moment before asking "Where is here?" Kojo looks at her as if she had lost her mind " here is the village written on the paper you showed me some time ago. "Oh" is the only thing she says before getting off the bus. She went to meet the bus conductor so that he can offload her luggage from the bus. While her luggage is being offloaded, Esi is using that time to look around the place is all green with tall trees ahead of then. She could see the mountain from afar and she knew then that she will get something to explore. She takes her phone from her little handbag to take some pictures but she sees a lot of miss calls from her mother. Not boarded by it, she begins to take pictures of the place. She also takes pictures with Kojo. "Do you like the place? " She hears Kojo ask " I can't say I like the place since I haven't seen the village yet but from what I am seeing now it will be a beautiful place ." She says "I'm sure you will like it." He said "I hope so."She retorts She walks towards her luggage and took them away from the roadside so they will not run over if a car passes by. Along with her suitcases, her bicycle was among at least she is grateful that her mother didn't leave her bicycle behind. She sees Kojo walking towards her with his small backpack and the rest of her suitcase that she didn't know she left behind. " Shall we go now?" he asked "How are we supposed to carry all these suitcases by ourselves besides my father was supposed to be here already to pick me up." She tells him " or maybe he doesn't want me to like my mother" she adds with sadness in her voice. Sighing, Kojo doesn't know what to do but he is willing to help her reach her father's house. Talking about her father he didn't ask her the name of her father maybe he might know him since everybody knows everyone in their village. "What is the name of your father?" He asks she looks at him before answering " it's Kofi Benson". "What!?" Kojo was taken aback by hearing his name that made Esi frown for a moment. "Do you know my father?" She raises a question "Are you kidding me, of course, I know him. Who doesn't know him in the village? He is the greatest farmer in our village not only that but because of him, the village has developed a lot since he came here." He said but Esi didn't know what to say since someone else is praising her father that she had last seen five years ago. She can still remember the day he left home her mother was so furious that she broke almost everything in the house. Esi was always Daddy's girl she was always happy when her father returns from work in the evening. No matter how tired he was he always had time for her and her sister. When he left them she cried for a week before going to bed. She assumed that her father does love them anymore and he will never come back. However, each time she heard someone opening the door of their house in the evening she will rush to if it was her father. As time passes she accepted the fact that their father left them for good. Hearing Kojo talks about him like that pain her more because that is not what she was expecting.
