The truth

Rio, Cedric, Lily, Tasha, Jessica, and Tommy are all in the room holding onto presents and balloons.

I am completely shocked. A party for me? I look around and we are in a library. It is just like beauty and the beast. The shelves are tall and filled with all types of books. There is a ladder even. Everything looks so beautiful and handcrafted. There are seats and tables to sit at. There is a reading nook in the window overlooking a garden.

I feel like I want to cry. I am so happy.

“What is this?”

“A surprise party for you in your own library.”

“My own library?”

“I had it built just for you.” Jayce tells me.

I pull him in and kiss him hard.

“Thank you, and thank you everyone this truly was a surprise. I still have one more day until my birthday, and all of you have done so much for me, and I am still surprised each time.”

“That’s why we keep doing it. The look on your face is priceless each time.” Rio says, and everyone laughs. I can’t stop my smile even though I hold in my tears.

“Come sit down and open our gifts. We thought it would be better to do this today so you can spend special time with Jayce tomorrow.” Jessica says, raising her eyebrows up and down. Everyone is giggling again, but I don’t understand why.

“Um alright, is there something special planned.”

Everyone laughs harder.

“Why are they laughing, Jayce?”

He gets down to my level and whispers in my ear.

“They are referring to our mate bond.”

Our mate bond?

“I guess we will finally know for sure that we are mates.”

“And?” Rio says

“And what?”

“Your going to want to mate and mark each other silly. You will be all over him all day.”

My eyes go wide, and my cheeks start burning up.

“You are all comfortable knowing that.”

I sit down and cover my red face with my hands. They just all laugh harder.

“Don’t worry, we are all going to be spending the day outside preparing the grounds. We want it to look nice since it’s not only your first shift but you will officially be part of the pack.”

I feel a little relieved but also nervous. I have never had s*x before, and it sounds scary. Especially with the size of Jayce’s c***. I can’t even imagine how that is all going to work out. His finger felt large to me.

“Calm down, Gwen. You know I won’t pressure you into anything. Everything will be fine.”

I take a few breaths and start to cool down.

“I know, it’s just a lot of new things in such a short period.”

“Well maybe opening this will help.”

Rio sets a white box with a bow on it in front of me. I can tell it’s going to be clothes.

I open it up and pull out a red lacy thong with no crotch. I look under it, and there is a lacy bra to match. I close the box before anyone else can see.

“RIO!”

“Wear it tomorrow. You both will thank me.”

“Well thank you, but I will wait until I am alone to open that.”

“Open mine next.” Lily says

I unwrap the gift, and it’s a book on exotic plants.

“Wow thank you!”

“Your welcome.”

Jessica hands me a gift as well.

“A bracelet, I love it.”

“It’s a friendship bracelet. I am moving to Tommy’s pack, and I want you to have a reminder to call me once in a while.”

I stand up and hug her.

“We can still go out dancing and hang out. Even if it’s just a few times a year.”

“Show her your gift now, Jayce!”

“Jayce you have already given me so much.”

“This gift is something you will need as a Luna.”

“What is it?”

“Give me just a second to open it for you.”

“Okay.”

He walks over to the back wall and slides his hand on the shelf. He begins to pull, and the bookshelf opens like a door.

“A secret door!” Wow, this is the library of my dreams and more.

I get up and look into the room. It has a desk with a computer and a comfy chair on one side and an art studio on the other. There is an Easel with a bunch of canvases around it. There is a table with a bunch of paints and brushes.

“It’s your Luna office. We added the art studio on the side so you can paint when you want a break.”

I walk in, taking in the details of each side. A tear slips, but I don’t think anyone has seen it.

“I can’t thank any of you enough. I will do everything I can for this pack.”

I get pulled into a hug that everyone joins in. I have to make this pack work for me. Even if by some crazy chance I am not Jayce’s mate. I need to give them everything I can with my abilities.

“Can I have a moment alone with Gwen?” Jayce asks everyone in the room.

“Of course, Alpha.” Rio gets everyone out and closes the door behind her.

“What’s going on, Jayce?”

“I need to talk about you shifting tomorrow. There isn’t anything we can’t overcome, but you should be prepared if something happens.”

“What do you mean if something happens?”

“Isaac mentioned to me that your shift could be different because of the fairy part of you. Your wolf form might take on some different characteristics. We might have to let people know about you being half fairy because of it.”

“Jayce I can’t even explain my situation to myself. How will I explain it to others?”

“I will explain it if need be. They will listen to me.”

“ Jayce, I don’t want it to be like that. Can’t we have some kind of meeting today. If we tell them now, they won’t think we were hiding it from them.”

“I don’t know if that’s a good idea exactly.”

“It would be better now than later. We can have Isaac there to help people understand better.”

Jayce paces back and forth for a minute.

“All of us here will have to be there for support. It should be in one of the gardens so you can show off your abilities. Maybe that could help people see the good that you can do.”

“Jayce that’s perfect. Can we get started now?”

“After this!”

He holds and kisses me. That’s just what I needed.

We gather the group up and head out to a garden that has just been put together and still doesn’t have anything planted yet. They were unable to decide what to put in it, so it is my playground. Isaac brought lots of seeds even though he doesn’t think I will need them once I get more control over my powers. We know that under short notice, not all pack members will make it, but I will take what I can get.

Jayce sends out a message telepathically, and people start showing up immediately. We stand in the middle of the garden, letting as many people know that nothing is wrong as we can.

“I think this is about it, Gwen. I am going to send out a message for people to quite down and listen. Then we can try to do this out loud.” He pauses for a moment, and everyone makes a circle and stands dead silent.

“Thank you, everyone, for coming. This is my mate Gwendolyn, our future Luna.”

Everyone cheers and claps for a couple of minutes before going back to be silent.

“Thank you, everyone. This really is a lovely pack.”

“Now we called you here because we found out something about Gwendolyn today, and she feels that none of you should be left in the dark about it. She highly values trust and honesty in our pack. Please give her your full attention.” So far, everyone seems curious.

“Today thanks to Isaac, I found out I can do this.”

I take a seed and place it in a spot we had ready in the dirt. I cover it and thank about juicy peaches. I think it helps that I am thirsty because the image is coming clearly. I feel the ground move, and everyone gasps.

A six foot peach tree has grown from the ground in front of me. The peaches are so heavy that a lot of them hang low. Some of them are so big you need two hands to hold them. They smell amazing, too. I never smelt peaches so fragrant before. Cedric picks a couple and hands them to the group.

They all begin eating them to show everyone it’s safe. Juice is running down their arms and faces . They stop and start giving them away to the brave people in the group. When they take a bite, the pleasure on their faces gets more people involved. One by one, the peaches get picked and regrow right back.

It must have been a good 10 minutes before someone asked how I did it.

“This might shock you all, but I recently found out I am part fairy.”

Some people looked displeased and even frightened. Others were still focused on their peaches.

“I know that fairies have a bad reputation to some, but Gwendolyn was raised as a werewolf and still very much so has the instincts as one. The fact that she has these abilities and the instincts is a blessing for our pack. We will be able to grow orchards and gardens within days instead of years, and the food will be a much higher quality. We will need to travel to the human world far less and become a stronger pack.”

Everyone seems to like what he is saying. In the corner of my eye, I see a little boy who is probably no older than 5 walking towards me.

“Hello little boy what’s your name?”

“Hunter” the boy says bravely.

“Can I get you a peach for you, Hunter?”

“No, I want strawberries.”

“Where do you think would be a good spot for strawberries?”

“On that side by my home.” He points and turns his head to the side. That’s when I see it. The very top of his ear is gone. It’s less than half of it, but it’s noticeable.

“Hunter what happened to your ear?”

“Wolf hunters, Alpha saved me, though.”

I feel so much anger and pain for him. Those disgusting people are going after a defenseless child. His ear won’t even grow back because it happened before his first shift.

“The Alpha is a great man. Let me make those strawberries for you.”

People part ways and make room for me. This time, I don’t use seeds. I feel like I have an energy in me to do it. I put my hands on the ground and think of plump strawberries. Strawberries that are as sweet as candy and will take the pain of that day away. When I open my eyes, there are several strawberries tangled up in each other. There must be more than 50 of them.

The little boy picks one and takes a big bite.

“Yummy!”

As he eats them, I notice something odd.

“Can I see your ear again, please?” He turn his head and touches it. He drops the strawberry and is in shock.

“My ear grew back! Mom! Dad!”

“Those strawberries healed him!” His dad yells. People rush up and start picking and eating them. I back out of the way and stand next to Jayce.

“The Luna has healed us!”

Everyone starts cheering. Pack members line up to shake my hand and welcome me to the pack. I will admit I was really scared for a moment.

I see Goldie flying in the distance, and I stick my arm out. I don’t know how I knew to do it, but she came over and landed on it. Everyone was in awe.

“This is my friend Goldie. I hope you all accept her too.” Children push their way to the front to pet her. She allows them, and I think she enjoys the attention. After living many lifetimes in solitude, she is taking to the social life well.

This is one weight lifted off of me. Now I have to get through my shift.

I spent the rest of the night meeting pack members. I try to remember their names and something interesting about them.

Once Jayce sees me yawning, he tells everyone that the meeting is over. I feel bad, though, because I didn’t get to everyone. It was enough, though. Even Goldie flew back to my room.

“Jayce will you carry me back? I am tired.”

“Of course, baby girl. How about we order some food to your room and watch Beauty and the Beast.”

“Yes, please.”

He gets down, and I hop on his back. Once we get inside, he carries me like a bride to my bed. I instantly curl up on it.

“Can we have pizza?”

“You can have anything your heart desires.”

“Can we have barbecue chicken wings on the side, too?” He gives me a chuckle.

“I love how the smallest things make you happy.”

He pauses for a moment. I think he is using his telepathy to order. Just a few more hours, and I can do that too.

“It will only be a few minutes. Do you like pepperoni pizza.”

“Yup, that will work.”

He puts on the movie, and we watch and eat together. It’s nice having downtime.

“Sweetheart, I am really sorry but I have to go.”

“Is something wrong?”

“Nothing you have to worry about, okay?”

“Okay, I think I will just go to sleep then.”

“Goodnight baby.” He says, giving me a kiss on my lips.

“Goodnight Handsome.”
