Jury finds herself in a pinch as she looks at her bank account, she facepalms herself for using her money to order expensive food back in London. The price of Nintendo Switch Lite in Indonesia is cheaper than she thought, it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to buy a new game console in Indonesia.
Her father is on another trip to another city near Surabaya for his project, it was a quiet apartment without her father nagging at her. However, she realizes now she had to find food for herself. She’s in pinch with the constant email coming from various different clients, but she loves the cafe owner one particularly.
Jury would find a time to discuss longer and privately with the cafe owner of Good Cup. She loves interacting with the friendly fellow, she had a feeling that the young man is a good man even though she knows she shouldn’t feel this way. Jury still acts professionally in front of the client of Good Cup owner, but his slips of the tongue just made him ten times cuter.
The young woman stretches her arm upwards, days passed by and nothing seems to be different. Perhaps, the presence of Kani makes him feel calm especially since he seems to be a cool person to hang out with. She challenges him into a duel, it was blunt and spontaneous of her to challenge him.
Her pride as a gamer cannot accept that anyone would be able to play better than her, even though Kano’s playstyle is superior to her. She allows it because Kano is her Idol, but Kani is merely an acquaintance. Rather she might be somewhat attracted to Kani, but she doesn’t want to feel anything for him.
She sighs heavily as she looks at the mall next to her apartment, she had to eat something for lunch since she already ate french toast for breakfast. Jury lazily wears her shirt and jeans, too lazy to even dress up for a simple lunch. She’s in the mood for ramen, hoping that the mall next door had a ramen restaurant or booth for her to drop by.
Jury sleazily steps out from her apartment, crossing over the road annoyingly as she hears her growling stomach makes its complaints by letting out a growl. The young woman greets the security from the mall, seemingly noticing the friendly face around the mall.
“You’ve been a frequent visitor here eh, young lady?” the mustache man smiles as he furrows his eyebrows. “Are you living nearby?”.
‘Untrustworthy’ is the first thing she thought of as she sees the security asks her in curiosity. She smiles it off and points at the other side of the mall, pointing toward a different complex that is not her apartment. She doesn’t want any strangers to know where she lives, even though the apartment is secured.
“Oh, you live in a house next to the apartment?” he asks with a friendly smile. “Well then, have a nice day”.
Jury walks in and heads straight to the food court which is located on the top floor. She sees the word ‘ramen’ on one of the booths, she orders it quickly with no pause in the middle of her sentences. Her walk becomes more sluggish as the hunger seeps into her system, losing her energy and nerves.
She almost passes out from hunger, the young woman yet again overworks herself until she’s exhausted herself. Jury forgot to eat lunch, the clock is ticking and the moment she snapped out from her work mode; it was already three o’clock. Her stomach growling for food, she feels like she wants to snap the world in half as she clutches onto the edge of the table.
Fifteen minutes later, a waiter come with a bowl of ramen in his hand. He puts the flower-pattern bowl gently on the table before Jury scarfs it down like a monster. She’s terribly hungry as the chopsticks clack as she munches the delicious yellow ramen into her throats. The sound of her slurps somewhat bothers the people next to her as they keep their distance from her.
Ignoring the people next to her, Jury keeps slurping her noodles excitedly as she fills her belly with the pork belly and the broth. It was done a lightning speed, invisible to the naked eyes as the bowl has suddenly turned empty with the broth covering her whole mouth in ramen broth substances.
“That was nice! Delicious” Jury licks the broth around her mouth shamelessly. “Now I just had to pay in the cashier and go home”.
After paying in the cashier, she then receives an email from the Good Cup cafe client. It seems whoever the sender believes that they should exchange phone numbers to speed up the process since he can’t wait to see the finalization of her ideas. Jury gives a nod, a polite reply as she types quickly on her cellphone screen.
They exchanged numbers, something within her almost bursts into joy when they exchanged numbers. She finally can speed the process without having to wait for his reply from an email, she walks home while looking at her cellphone screen. It appears the Good Cup client is excited to chat with her.
“Thank you for exchanging numbers with me! I had a feeling we will be able to get along well! Whether about the job and personal relationship!” he types with a smiling emoji, truly a cinnamon roll in the heart. Jury can’t contain her smile when she sees the excited emojis from the client.
“Oh, before I forgot let me introduce myself” he apologizes politely. “I’m not the same client you messaged before, I am her nephew! My name is Anthony Sloan, pleased to talk to you”.
“I am Jury Crawford, I suppose you haven’t known my name yet since you don’t call my name that much” she replies still somewhat stiff. “I hope we can talk more in the future”.
