Live 21: The Attraction Challenge

1090 Words
They’re in a clutch, as the squads thinning out to three squads left with only Kevin’s squad and the enemies squad battling each other in the mountain area. There’s barely any place to hide, the one who gains a better position is the winner of the battle. It’s the rule of an FPS battle royale, Kevin crouches as he peeks at the two teams battling for domination. They’re in the intersection of a magma zone and the hills that uplooking the magma factory, it’s a Lava Fissure area. Kevin reckons that they’re at a disadvantage since they’re not in the building but instead a plain for the enemies to see if they were finished battling. The other team needs to go straight up through the zipline. Gibraltar notices Kevin’s worries, they’re in their plain sight as soon as they’re done with the team from the Lava Fissure. Kevin suggests Tempesta stay behind as he and Gibraltar sneak from behind. The Lava Fissure team was eradicated not long after that, the team standby inside the building, perhaps waiting for their next prey. The zone is getting smaller, thus Kevin tells Tempesta to sneak quietly while crawling through the area. However, the impatience team had Bloodhound in their team. The scout character skill enabled him to scan the area for any signs of enemies. His ultimate makes him being able to see the enemies in infrared vision, it also reduces the scan cooldown by a notch. “s**t, they have Bloodhound! We’re doomed” Kevin clicks his tongue. “Tempesta, come here! Let’s fight them together with the Gibraltar!”. Gibraltar drops his dome shield since they’re not in a good position to defend themselves, they’re outside the building hence they won’t be able to take cover. Tempesta drops a Thermite bomb in front of the door, making the enemies wary of their next step. The bomb acts as a flare, it also deals continuous small damage if they step outside. However, one of them jumps from the second floor which is the Bloodhound. The other two follows Bloodhound as they go upstairs, Kevin prepares his fence if it’s needed. Sadly enough, his traps have proven to be futile if they’re in an open space. The enemies can gun down their traps easily by shooting the fence base. They’re looking at Kevin satisfyingly, knowing they have secured their first position as the champion since they’re in a better position. The enemy has shot down Gibraltar not long after, the character was a humongous man, it is no wonder it’s an easy target since his hitbox rate is big due to his body size. Watson and Bangalore are female characters, their bodies are medium-sized hence it’s not that easy to target them. Kevin fights courageously even if they know they will lose. Tempesta on the other hand panics as she shoots the enemy with the shotgun she equipped which happened to down the Bloodhound. “That’s it! Lucky shot!” Kevin praises Tempesta. However, Tempesta panicking uses her smoke bombs to escape the fight. She doesn’t realize that her actions blind her teammates as well in the process, Kevin facepalms himself when this happens as he struggles to find a route to escape since the thick smoke is covering his eyesight. Tempesta was killed afterward since she moved away from the smoke, her running steps also make it obvious where she’s headed. Kevin stays in one place, hiding in the smoke to avoid enemy detection. But he knows he can’t hide there forever, in the end, he was gunned down by the medic APEX character, Lifeline. The buns-styled girl cheerily gunned him then executes him with a finisher, using her favorite drumstick as the c****x of the battle royale. Kevin’s squad lost, they’re in second place; nevertheless, it was a fun game. Tempesta expresses her apologies while sweating profoundly. Kevin notices the distress in her voice, apparent and visible to his naked eyes. “I’m sorry! It was my fault! I shouldn’t use the smoke bomb!” Tempesta gasps. “I panic and lose my composure, that was uncool of me”. “No worries Tempesta, it’s just a game” Kevin chuckles. “There’s always next time just chill, okay? I’ll protect you”. Kevin feels he needs to protect her, Tempesta always tries her best not to c***k under pressure when she plays with Kevin. She’s shielding her emotions and insecurity from Kevin, but he knows how cracked she is when she panics. Kevin reassures her that she will grow the more she plays the game. He will teach her the basics of the game and movement set that she can use in the future. After hearing his encouragement, Kevin smiles wider; expecting that she will fall for him deeper now that he’s encouraging her to learn together. Tempeste sounds reluctant though, which is unexpected for Kevin. “Thank you, but I can study it on my own after I defeat you in a 1-on-1 battle” she challenges Kevin right on the bat with a smug tone. “I can’t accept that I can’t be useful in the team earlier, so I will study some tips and tricks from YouTube videos to fight you fair and square on the practice area”. Kevin widens his eyes, his pupils dilated as he thinks how the girl refuses to submit to him. The young man touches his chin, amuses with Tempesta’s attempt to overcome him. “You’re so sure about challenging me? That’s brave of you Tempesta” he chuckles satisfyingly. “What makes you want to challenge me?”. “I want to beat you, if I can beat you then I’ll be the same as Kano my favorite Vtuber” she sounds genuinely overjoyed in her little fantasy. “I want Kano to notice my presence as a good gamer! He will notice me and maybe he wants to talk to me someday!”. He almost couldn’t believe what he heard, she sounds so childish when she utters her dream of having a collab with the famous APEX Vtuber Kano. Kevin can’t wait to see her squirm when she truly faces off with him in the deadly arena of APEX. The young man is intrigued with her vigor and liveliness, he subconsciously wants to spend more time with her with his mind circling to find a reason to talk with her next time. He’s interested in her in a person, not just in persona.
