Chapter 1:(Face -off)
The two teams entered the stadium , Wolves led by their captain Tyler knox and Eagles led by their captain Zane brooks.The crowd began to cheer .
"We've got this!"
Zane told his team as he tightened his gloves.
He stretched his neck when he heard someone calling him,loud enough.
"Captain!."
He turned .
And there he was,grinning widely.
"Watch your back."Tyler Knox said.
He sighed with an icy glare.
Before he could say anything ,the referee skated to center holding the puck and in split of second the game had begun.
Everything blurred into motion,skates sliced across the ice and bodies crashing.
Tyler tightened his grip and held his stick firmly,"Pass!Block!Wolves formation!"He called out to his team.
He was too fast, breaking two defenders in a snap.He slammed into the boards and cut left , throwing a slapshot .
Zane tried to block him but they slammed onto each other, and hit the ice hard.
The whole crowd went silent.
The whistle blew.
"Penalty!"The referee shouted.
They stayed for a second breathing heavily.
Elbows pressed .Too close.Too warm.
"You are stronger than last season,"Tyler teased.
"Stop focussing on me.I know I'm pretty ,you are going to lose."He said.
Zane looked at him breathing heavily,and stood.
"Is that all you've got ?"He said, and skated away.
The rest of the game was chaos,it wasn't strategy anymore,it was obsession.
There was no space left to breath.Every shift felt like war.
Zane didn't just play.He performed.The crowd loved it.
The final buzzer echoed through the arena.
The scoreboard glowed.
Wolves 3- Eagles 3.
A tie.
Zane looked at Tyler and noticed his hair stuck slightly to his forehead as he sweated.
Tyler looked back at him, with a serious look.
None of the teams looked satisfied.
"No winner."James,Zain's teammate said.
"There's still next time."Zane answered.
"And I hope you will be well prepared,"a voice said from a distant.
Zane looked at him and smirked."Same to you captain."He said.
Zane's teammates we're leaving.
He skated towards the tunnel ,and left Tyler standing.
He could feel his gaze which made his chest feel tight.
