Chapter Five

When it was morning, Derek and Alison continued their journey in search of the figure. When they found him, they explained what happened in the town so he followed them back. As they approached the town, they saw that it was in calamity. People were running around, screaming and shouting, and the town was filled with smoke and flames. In the distance, they could hear the howling of many wolves, and they knew that the sorcerer was close by.

"We have to find shelter," Connor said, his voice urgent. "We can't be viewing from here when the wolves attack."

“Let's go there!" Alison shouted, pointing to a small church at the edge of the town. "We can hide there!"They ran towards the church, as fast as they could before the sorcerer saw them. As they reached the doors, they saw that the door wasslightly open. Derek pushed it open, and they stepped inside. The air was filled with the smell of incense, and the candles were shining bright in the darkness. They could hear the wolves howling, but it sounded far away from them. As they looked around, they saw a figure standing in the shadows, they couldn't see its face because his face was hidden in the darkness. They knew it was the sorcerer, so they started approaching it, but the figure disappeared into the darkness.

"Wait!" Alison called out, but it was too late. The sorcerer was gone. They searched the nooks and crannies of the church, but the sorcerer was nowhere to be found. They were alone. Then, they heard a faint noise from the back of the church. A soft cry, like a wounded animal. They ran towards the sound, and they saw something that made them terrified. It was a wolf, lying on the ground, its fur mixed with its blood. It was injured, its body weak and its eyes closed whimpering. They didn't know it was Peter because they thought he would be part of the wolves the sorcerer was using to attack the townspeople. Derek knelt beside the wolf, his heart was broken. "It's going to be okay," he said, his voice soothing. He began to examine the wolf's wounds, and he realized that the injuries were severe. He looked up at Alison, his eyes filled with fear. "I don't know if we can help it," he said. "The wounds are too deep."

But Alison wasn't ready to give up. She knelt beside Derek and placed her hands on the wolf's body. "Please," she whispered. "Please be okay."A tiny glow began to show from her hands

and the wolf's body began to shift and change. Its fur began to reduce, and its limbs grew longer and thinner. Its snout shortened, and its ears grew smaller. In a matter of moments, the wolf was no longer a wolf. It was a man, lying on the ground, his chest rising and falling with each breath.

Derek and Alison were amazed but the amazement didn't last for too long because the wounded wolf was Peter. Peter was unconscious, but he was breathing. They were so devastated. They gently lifted him, and they carried him out of the church and into the light of the moon. They laid him down on the grass, and as they laid him down, his body began to change. All the wounds were closing up, and all the drops of blood were drying up too. Derek and Alison were watching in wonder. After the changes happened finished, Peter was conscious. He opened his eyes and was surprised.

“How did I get here?” he asked them. They explained to him where they met last and the message he delivered to them. He remembered so they were happy his memory was back. They asked him what happened to him that almost killed him. He explained to them that after he left them. The sorcerer met him on his way and told him that he knew he was just coming back from them. He said the sorcerer took him to a dark pit hole and he tortured him till he passed out. He said that was the last thing he remembered. Derek became furious because the sorcerer did that to his friend. But the figure that has been listening to their talk since morning finally spoke. He said the sorcerer intentionally did that to make him angry and attack him first. Derek finally understood what the figure was trying to get at. So when Peter was okay that he could walk, they came together and made out a plan. The plan was to capture the sorcerer and make him suffer just like he did to them and the townspeople. Derek loved the idea but he was afraid that if they didn't carry the townspeople along with their plan, they might be in danger when they are carrying out the plan. So they decided to go back to the town and tell the people about their plan. So they got ready and left the small church. When they got to the town, everything had been burned to ashes, the townspeople were crying and wailing on the floor. No one to comfort each other. Derek and Anna felt their pain. Alison couldn't stand the people's cry. She was also crying with them. Derek went up to a high place and was about to address the whole people but the figure stopped him.

“The sorcerer might be around and he might be hearing what you want to tell these people,” the figure said. Derek thought about it and he later agreed that it was true. When the people were calmed from crying, they saw Peter and they were all happy to see him back as a human. They know he's not fully free from the sorcerer's b*****e, but at least he was with them happily. Derek told the people to come around him and everybody came around. He told them about the plan they made to catch the sorcerer and torture him just like he did to them. The people agreed about it and that made them happy a little bit. They were happy on one side because they found a way to teach the sorcerer a lesson and they were also sad on one side because they had nowhere to rest their heads on. Their houses have been burned to ashes by the sorcerer.
