I didn’t know what to think or do at that moment because Elara was still unconscious; I couldn’t ask her about the poison. If the bullet was fragmented, I believed she would know the kind of poison used in it. But now that she was still asleep, we had to wait for her to wake.
“Let’s go see Jai. We can come back when she’s awake.”
“Don’t you think she needs to be attended to? The physician said she was freezing, and I don’t think staying warm would be enough to heal her.”
He was right, but at this point, I didn’t have any option other than to wait and see what happened. If staying warm would help her gain her strength back, then that was what I had to rely on.
“Give it an hour. I will be back to check on her well-being,” I assured him, patting his shoulder.
