The drinking glass slipped right out of Pia's fingers and shattered into a hundred sharp pieces across the floor. The nanny jumped out of her skin, fumbling to hang up her call and spinning around. "M-Ma'am… how did you get out here?" "What did you just say?" Pia stared daggers at the woman, her whole body shaking so hard her bones ached. "What happened to my mother?"
