“Catch no feelings, feel no pain” After dropping Skylar off at her house, I drive off towards my house. My mind is buzzing with thoughts and it hurts to admit but all of them are about Colton. I don’t even know why Jacob invited me in all of their annoying parties but there’s a reason behind it. *The Next Day* “And students, that’s why are government sucks!” Mr. Mathews ends his lecture and everyone piles out of his classroom. “I am so excited for the dance happening next week. I heard people are already asking girls out for it.” Skylar gushes next to me as I roll my eyes and open my locker. “Let’s see of anyone comes to you.” I tease and she raises her eyebrows. I put my journals in the locker and we walk towards the field. Today, the football tryouts will take place and Skylar is forcing me to find a hot guy for myself. As if. Many guys are standing on the field shirtless, unfortunately they don’t know that we will stare the f**k out as they play. I gaze around the field and spot many familiar people, Jacob, Miles from French and more friends of mine when my gaze sets on a pair of electrifying blue eyes. Colton “Oh my god, did you see that blonde guy? He was staring at me!” Skylar says astonished and points at him. “Do you think he’s cute? Maybe he will ask me out for the dance.” Skylar guesses and I look back at Colton not paying attention to her. He’s speaking with Catherine with a large smile on his face while she’s practically breaking his arm off by leaning on it. “You should ask him out. His name is Matthew Black, and he sat right next to me in Maths. He’s shy, but he’s a great listener.” I reply to Skylar with a hint of anger in my voice but luckily she nodded and kept on looking towards him. Coach blew the whistle, and the boys lined up towards the goal to shoot the football in the goal while the goalie tries to defend. One by one, people shoot most of them miss but others like Jacob or Mathew goal, Skylar claps the loudest. Colton walks in front and runs towards the ball, kicking it towards the goal. He goals and everyone cheers, resulting in Catherine to run up to him and kiss him. A frown forms on my face as I feel a sudden sense of jealousy. I look away from the scene and try to get rid of the buildup of emotions for him. I ignore most of the practice after that and have a sulky mood which pisses off Skylar a lot. I walk out of the building in the middle of the practice realizing I’m wasting my time. Dad told me we were going to one of his friend’s house for dinner tonight so I figured I would get ready for it. I reach home and enter the kitchen grabbing a bag of Doritos on the way. I walk into my closet and decide what to wear. It’s not even a big deal anyway, I’ve visited many of Dad’s friends. Most of them just ask me general questions about my age and then they talk to Dad. “Honey, are you ready? We’ll be late if we leave later.” Dad yells at me from downstairs and I quickly grab my phone and head downstairs. I sit in the car and Dad drives of. Sometime later, we arrive near a large house which is gorgeous and just by looking at it you can tell that it may have cost a large sum of money. Maybe seven figures. The gates open and Dad parks inside. The house is 3 storeys and many expensive cars are parked in front. We walk inside the house and a servant guides us where Mr. Roberts is sitting. The living room is a dimly lit room, and a couple sits there waiting for us. The man stands up and hugs Dad while the woman passes me a kind smile. I take a seat and the conversation begins mainly around business. “What’s your name, darling?” The woman asks me and I shift uncomfortably in my seat. “Olivia Carter.” I say and she nods. “Mrs. Chris or you can call me Hailey. Which school do you attend?” “Northside High School, I just started this year.” “Really? My son goes to that school. Maybe you’ve seen him.” She says and thinks deeply for a moment. “Why don’t you meet him right now? Wait, I’ll ask someone to take you there.” She calls in a maid and she leads me to the third floor. There is a large corridor and at the end there’s a bedroom. “Right inside that bedroom ma’am.” She says and walks off. Oh god, I dislike this all. Maybe I can run downstairs or back in the car. Or I can look for the washroom and trap myself in there for 20 minutes. What if it’s a nerd? I don’t want to tell him how my Biology test went. I should stop procrastinating and go inside. The servants must think I’m mad. I knock softly on the door and a someone inside tells me to come in. I suck my breath and open the door. I shut the door behind me as I enter the room and I turn to meet blue eyes. Way too familiar blue eyes, blue eyes that have given me too many dreams, eyes I have seen too much, eyes that terrify me. “Oh, hey Colton!” I say in a fake cheery voice as he smirks at me. I do not know how I ended up here. Why the f**k am I in his house? I vote that I leave instantly and go back. Maybe fake a headache or something to force Dad into leaving so I haven’t had to see him. He looks interested in me as his eyes scan me all over. He should do that more. “Olivia, I never expected to see you here. What a pleasant surprise.” He says in a pacifying voice as I look around his room. “Congratulations in making the team, again. Skylar told me.” I say sarcastically as he stands up to face me. He’s wearing a grey shirt with biker shorts. “Thanks though, but I didn’t see you at all after the first half.” He points out in his annoyingly handsome voice. “Yeah, I left.” I answer back and look at his bed which is a mess but looks rather comfortable even with sheets strewn all over it. “Okay.” He says deliciously and walks closer to me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- P.S.
