Before Drew Caleb could get the chance to say anything, Nancy Smith stumbled over him and made her way to the bathroom.
All eyes were on her as she walked with difficulty through the aisle, trying to reach the bathroom with hopes of Drew Caleb not reaching to stop her.
Something in her told her that the man could easily ask for her to return to her seat, and somehow she would yield, either by herself or if any of the hostesses stopped her.
The man was powerful to the core.
The entire time that she had seen him with Peter Crochet, Drew Caleb had never struck her as such a powerful man because he always kept his cool.
Maybe it was because he was around Peter Crochet, who had as much or close to the same power as him, so his influence did not ooze out the way it does now.
Nancy breathed a sigh of relief when she was safely in the bathroom, looking at herself in the mirror.
She wanted a break, she had taken a vacation, only for her to get roped in tighter in more chaos.
Nancy turned on the faucet in the bathroom and splashed the chilly water on her face.
She had stayed in the bathroom for quite a long time, wishing that somehow, she could spend the next hours left for the duration of the flight there, but of course, it was impossible, and she was soon reminded of the fact.
"Miss, is everything okay in there?" the sweet and soft voice of an air hostess sounded as she knocked on the door, waiting for Nancy to show up.
Nancy, startled, suddenly raised her head and started to stutter, saying.
"I...I... Just a moment please, I'll soon be out."
After saying that, she quickly opened the door and pretended to be adjusting her blouse.
The hostess smiled at Nancy, and Nancy smiled back as she warily made her way back to her seat.
To Nancy's surprise, by the time she got to her seat, Drew Caleb was nowhere in sight.
She was shocked.
Was he also using the bathroom?
She took a seat, feeling free for the time being and hoping that the man would not return to resume asking her so many questions that she did not have an answer to, but to her surprise, hours passed and he still had not returned.
Nancy was shocked when the duration of the flight elapsed, and Drew Caleb did not return to his supposed seat beside her.
Not only did he not return, he was nowhere to be found, even to the point of alighting the aircraft.
Nancy didn't know what to make of that.
Bear in mind that she did not know how powerful Drew Caleb was yet, and in what industry he held any such power.
Eventually forgetting about him, Nancy boarded a taxi and made her way to the five-star hotel that she had already booked when she was back home.
Peace!
She eased into the large, luxurious room and quickly got comfortable.
Of course, there wouldn't be anyone to bother her, thankfully, not even Drew Caleb, right?
She didn't know what she had coming for her.
Finally able to access her phone and make calls, Nancy called Kimberly.
She has to spill the gist of her encounter with the mysterious Drew Caleb on the flight that she had boarded from home.
"He owns the airline. Have you forgotten? Drew Merry airline is owned by the Caleb family." Kimberly was shocked that her friend didn't have any idea about Drew Caleb and his family's wealth.
It was at that point that Nancy's brain woke up.
The airline was named after him, Drew.
No wonder he could easily disappear into a part of the aircraft that she could not find him in.
Kimberly started to laugh out loud as soon as she understood how worried Nancy had been throughout the flight and still was.
"What's the name of your hotel?" she asked Nancy.
"Caleb Heights." Nancy almost swallowed her tongue when she replied to Kimberly and realized that the name of the hotel also carried the Caleb family name.
"What's going on? Does this hotel belong to the Caleb family as well?" Nancy asked, almost in tears.
Kimberly laughed harder.
"I don't know about that, but I think you should be happy. This is about to be the best vacation of your life, trust me," she replied, giggling uncontrollably.
''Are you even on my side? You are making matters worse,'' Nancy complained bitterly.
Kimberly was having fun with it while she was having the most exasperating time of her life.
''Free your mind, Nan. Peter is your only problem. Well, Peter and your father. You are far away from both of them, so I see no reason why you should feel under the bus,'' Kimberly advised.
Nancy heaved a tired sigh.
''I wish you had been here. Things would have been a lot easier if you were here. Why did you refuse to come with me?'' Nancy sulked.
''I have my own life at home, and my problems,'' Kimberly said with a little bit of excitement.
Kimberly sounded a tad bit too excited for Nancy's liking.
''Since when did you 'have your own life to live' when a free getaway is involved?'' Nancy asked.
Nancy suspected Kimberly.
She suspected foul play.
''Just have fun, you'll be back in a jiffy. Hopefully, Mr. Caleb does not find you again,'' Kimberly hung up as soon as she said that.
Nancy was about to say something else when she heard the back tone ring from her phone, indicating that Kimberly had gone offline.
She rolled her eyes, picked up her towel, and headed for the swimming pool.
It was 7 p.m., and the pool area was full and lively, just as Nancy had imagined it.
She got ready to dive into the pool, and was just at the edge of the pool when she heard a familiar voice behind her ask, ''Are you stalking me?''
